In other words, don't bury your faith. It's the same as rejecting Christ. Then when it's time for judgement, dig it up and say, See, I had Faith. I was afraid of the responsibility that Faith required. That is why that servants Talent was taken away. That is why he was thrown into darkness. If you have received the Good News, then share it, live it, according to your abilities. You have been given Grace and His Divine Mercy. Share and grow it according to your abilities.

I see what you're saying, but that reverts salvation back to works, doesn't it? Your salvation is then depending on whether you've used your faith or not. Unless you mean "use your faith in ORDER TO be saved"?

@@wagonwheelhomestead1043 To give you more context and clarity. Matthew 25:14-30 and James 2:14-26 have parallels and differences. Matthew 25:14-30 tells the parable of a master who entrusts talents (money) to his servants and expects them to invest and multiply what they were given. The servant who does nothing with his talent is rebuked and cast out, showing that passive, inactive faith is insufficient. The parable emphasizes responsible stewardship and the need for action-faith is not passive but requires active engagement with what God entrusts to us. In James 2:14-26, the apostle James argues that faith without works is dead. He highlights that genuine faith must be demonstrated by actions. James points to examples like Abraham and Rahab, whose faith was proven through their deeds. For James, faith isn’t just a mental belief but something that naturally results in righteous action. Parallels and Differences Both passages agree that faith without action is incomplete. In Matthew, the emphasis is on the servants' responsibility to act on what they have been given, while in James, the argument is that true faith inevitably expresses itself in deeds. However, the contexts differ: Matthew’s parable highlights God’s expectation for us to be productive and to use the resources (gifts, talents, opportunities) given to us. It underscores accountability and the consequences of negligence. James 2 is more direct in addressing the theological question of the nature of faith itself. James combats the notion that mere belief (without corresponding works) can save, insisting that works are the evidence of living faith. "Salvation is by faith alone, but saving faith is never alone; it is accompanied by works that demonstrate the reality of that faith." 1.) Works as Evidence, Not the Cause of Salvation: James doesn’t contradict the doctrine of salvation by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Rather, he is emphasizing that true faith naturally results in good works, much like in the parable, where the faithful servants’ actions reflect their trust in the master. 2.) Faith Entrusts Us with Responsibility: Matthew 25 demonstrates that when God entrusts us with something-whether it be talents, opportunities, or the Gospel itself-we are expected to act in accordance with that trust. Neglecting to do so, as seen with the third servant, shows a lack of real faith. 3.) Active Faith is God-Glorifying: Both passages align in teaching that faith without action is ineffective. God is glorified through our works, not because they earn salvation, but because they reflect the faith He has worked in us. The emphasis in Matthew is on responsible stewardship and in James on faith’s practical outworking, both reinforce the necessity of active faith. A genuine relationship with God transforms us in ways that are evident through our works-be it stewardship, charity, or obedience to His will.

@wagonwheelhomestead1043 So, read Matthew 25 in it's entirety and all of this will make sense. Jesus uses 3 parables to explain his return and the judgement. The first is the parable of the ten virgins which 5 wise had oil and 5 foolish had none. And when the groom returned those that were prepared entered into the wedding feast and those who weren't were denied even though they all believed in the groom, only those prepared with oil entered. What is the oil? We can find the answer in the next two parables. Immediately, Jesus goes to the parable of the talents. Now a talent is a measurement of weight and weighs about 40 to 50 lbs. It is said to equal a lifetime of wages depending if it's gold or silver. To find the answer to what the talent represents goto Matthew 23:23. There Jesus is calling the Pharisees hypocrites because they mistake tithing for the "weightier parts of the law: justice, mercy, faithfulness. Now go back to the parable of the talents. How does he describe the servants? The two that increased the talents were described as good and faithful. A good person is a just person who follows the law and faithful is by definition. But the weightiest would therefore be the Talent which represents God's mercy and the good news. The 3rd servant buried it and rejected it by giving it back and saying take back what is yours. That's why the talent was taken away and he was cast into he'll. This is followed by the 3rd parable of the shepherd who separated the sheep and goats. Just like the first parable where the virgins had the same bridegroom, the sheep and goats had the same shepherd. But the sheep were righteous and here Jesus identifies himself as hungry, thirsty, naked. Sick in prison and a stranger (homeless). For I was.....and the sheep said Lord when did we... and Jesus says whatever you have done to the least of your brothers you have done unto me. The goats although believing in the same shepherd did none of these things and were cast into hell. So what is the oil? To be good and faithful and share the Good news and to show mercy to those who are thirsty, hungry, naked, sick, in prison, and are strangers. Are these works? No, it is following Jesus' words and being what a Christian should be. That will be our judgement.

This is what the parable REALLY means: Jesus was the man that traveled abroad when he ascended to heaven in 33 C.E. He gave his disciples, or (slaves) the weighty commission mentioned at Matthew 24:18-20, to make disciples. Jesus was committing them to “his belongings”-his talents. Put simply, the talents refer to the responsibility to preach and make disciples. Although the slaves received a different number of talents, the master expected all of the to be diligent and to serve to the best of their ability in the ministry. Starting at Pentecost 33 C.E., Christ’s followers began doing business with the talents. Their diligence in the preaching and disciple-making work is well-documented in the Bible book of Acts!

@@crossing3790 The Bible clearly states, that there is such a thing as a 'false' brother. Those who go to church, but never really gave their hearts to God. At the end we are measured by the FRUITS of our lives. Was your faith a living faith? Then it would produce love, and that love is something you DO. Love always gives. It cannot not give. If your 'love' didn't give, it never was love in the first place. You might have paid lip service to it at some point in your life, but it never was the real thing. A dead fruit tree will not produce fruits. A live fruit tree will. It might take some time of growing and healing with some, but eventually all will have something to show for their faith. The Bible calls your faith 'dead', when it's not producing the acts of love. So a fake believer, who did not use the love God sent to him, but instead kept living for me, myself and I, is like one, who buried it in the ground. He will be sent to outer darkness. A true believer will ALWAYS produce true acts of love. Not the fake woke ones of nowadays, but First love God and Then your neighbor. As to have a steady compass in what to rejoice about in your neighbor's live and what to rebuke. And yes, rebuke can be a true act of love, when done with the honest wish of betterment for the other person. Some people believe, that love will endorse anything. But it will only endorse godliness and true righteousness. Just saying. Also just saying, that obnoxious people don't know when to stop rebuking. Once in honesty and sincerity is enough. If the other person asks you to stop, show your love in other ways only.

Brother, I appreciate your intention to explain in such a way so as to not let Christians feel bad about their lack of talents and to not make the Church look as if it's threatening it's members to use their talents for God's purpose or else go to hell. (Churches are definitely not to say that to it's members for that was not how Jesus preached.) If I may add to your understanding, this passage is especially referring to the understanding given to us by God's Holy Spirit, which is connected to our humility and willingness to listen to His word, learn from His Spirit, share that knowledge and wisdom and put His teachings into action (for which, we need to have faith and trust in Him, as you mentioned). To those who have understanding from God, more will be given because it shows that we are receptive to His word and teachings to begin with, whereas, those who shun His teachings and corrections and wisdom, whatever little understanding they had will be lost due to their lack of faith in him, lack of humility to listen and learn from the anointed one of God and unwillingness to put it all to practice. This passage is connected to the parable of the workers of God's vineyard. We should use our God given understanding and gifts (See the many gifts of the Holy Spirit) to be "fishers of men" thereby "increasing" the number of people in God's kingdom instead of keeping it all to ourselves (like the one with one burried talent) who only focused on getting himself "saved". Be blessed brother and may God guide you as you seek to know and serve Him better. Praise be to God! ☺️

You say that the man with only one talent buried it and because he did not have faith and he was not born again. I think you are missing something. All three men in the parable received the talents which means they all accepted the gospel, and God gave them talents according to their ability. You see if they were able to make it grow by using the talent, they all had to have been born again for this talent to grow. I take the talent to be the grace, or capacity to love, or faith which all can be measured the same way, the different quantities of talents has to do to their ability as it is written, God knows our spiritually maturity and how much He can give us that we can handle, this is not what you say to contrast rich and poor, or proud or humble. Jesus command us to produce fruit and God expect us to produce fruit and that fruit is the fruit of the Spirit which is Love. We need to be born again to be able to produce fruit, so, If after being born again, we do not use the capacity God has given us for us to grow spiritually, then we will be punished. See that this man was punished not with Gehenna but with outer darkness, which is not the same, I believe Gehenna is destruction, the outer darkness is a punishment to those who by disobedience did not grow in the knowledge of God. Jesus said that to follow Him we have to deny ourselves, take our cross, and follow Him, our main problem is our sinful human nature that we need to subdue, that is how we allow the Spirit to make us grow, by restraining out human nature which consists of those evil desires we are born with as it is stated in Romans.

A good hermeneutic helps. When the Bible says “we aren’t saved by works” the writer means the works of the law (Gal. 2:16). True biblical faith is listening to God (through His word) and doing it. Take the entirety of Hebrews 11. Every time someone is mentioned, it says, “by faith, so and so did thus.” Abraham, when God told him get out of your Father’s house, did so. Noah, when God told him to build the ark, he did so. Everyone mentioned in Hebrews 11 lived by faith, by listening to God and doing what He says. There is nothing we can do of ourselves to save us. It is God who saves. So we don’t do of ourselves, by our own whims, but we do of God.

First and foremost, we must understand that by Christ's death on the cross, we were bought with a price, his blood, to minister for him as his co-workers. Therefore by the parable of the talents is meant the various abilities (gifts and talents) that we have been endowed with and which we must put to use in accomplishing our mission on earth. Each person is called upon to faithfuly develop and put to use for God's glory whatever abilities he or she has received from above. The holy spirit gifts each one accordingly and it's your duty to apply that gift for the betterment of others

This is the meaning of the word parable , according to the king James concordance,Parabole, placing of one thing by the side of another, juxtaposition, as of ships in battle metaphorically a comparing, comparison of one thing with another, likeness, similitude an example by which a doctrine or precept is illustrated a narrative, fictitious but agreeable to the laws and usages of human life, by which either the duties of men or the things of God, particularly the nature and history of God's kingdom are figuratively portrayed a parable: an earthly story with a heavenly meaning a pithy and instructive saying, involving some likeness or comparison and having preceptive or admonitory force, I'm not sure this video explains this parable and everything that is in it correctly, but I can't see how you can lose your salvation if you don't use the talent God has given you ?

@@jeezed2950 Just stick to this: "Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22: 37-40. Love finds a way to communicate itself. First to God and then in obedience to God towards others. We often choose a vocation, based on our natural talents. By doing so you can earn money. This world still needs police, FBI, military and guards. Use your natural abilities to serve God with. Police with kindness, research with diligence, protect the weak with strength and guard what's valuable from theft. Then use part of your income to serve in whatever needs God puts on your heart. The talents mentioned in this parable are a measure of weight. Like we use pounds and kilos and tons as measurements of weight today. A talent amount of silver would be around the value of 28.000 dollars nowadays, of course changing with the ups and downs of the market. So the rich man gave his servants a good amount of money to work with. And he expected results. As such I do not fully endorse the take of this preacher on this parable. For it was really down to earth. When you receive something from God, whatever it is, you are not supposed to bury it. God expects us to do something with what He gave us. Back to the great commandment: love is something you DO. Like the Bible warns in James 4: 17: "If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them." True love will not stay inactive! When it stays inactive, it's simply not real love. This pastor has another short preaching, in which he explains what a living faith is. If someone comes running upon the beach, shouting there will be a tsunami in 10 minutes, everyone can say: "yeah, thank you." Yet, only the ones who believe his warning, will gather their loved ones and run for higher ground immediately. Faith produces results. If you Have faith in the message of the tsunami, you Will run from the beach. That preaching is very good. Likewise, if you've become a Christian, you will Want to love God above all else and your neighbor as yourself. You don't need any law to forbid you to steal from your neighbor, for it doesn't even come to your mind to steal. Rather, you'd work hard, so that you can also share some of your earnings with those in need. This love is the scarcest commodity on earth! You can compare it to a talent. Love will produce more love. You will use the love you get from God to heal yourself and then to spread healing to others around you. If God gives you love and you 'bury it in the ground', it will do you nor anyone else any good. The Kingdom of God is found where love and righteousness are found. Galatians 5 shows the fruits of the Spirit, that ought to spring forth in your life. Does nothing spring forth? Then you are not led by the Spirit of God. Hope this helps a bit. Use whatever you are and have to love, and grow in your abundance of it. It's the mark of the true Christian and I'll be applauding you on that day, when Christ says to you: "Well done, you good and faithful servant! You've been faithful in little and shall be put over much. Go into the feast of the Lord!"
@gardenjoy5223

@@MICROSCOPICgiant7 Obviously he didn't agree. And neither do I. This preacher has many valuable insights. He's not completely on the mark here, though. A talent was a measurement, like we have kilos today. A talent of silver would be about 28.000 dollars in worth today. Jesus is portraying in this parable, that God is entrusting us with valuable assets. And that God expects of us to grow in them. Faith is shown in how we use what we have. Example: there are Christians that do find they have enough money for a very luxurious home and costly vacations, but they are tight in giving to missions. That's clear misuse of God given abilities and assets. The commodity of heaven is Love. Love gives. Always. It cannot not give. If your love doesn't excel in giving, it's not love to begin with.

I see this parable in a more "technical" sense. Sort of. Like a life lesson. The Talent is a synonym of success or something valuable. We as the servants, have a standard value to start. We musnt fear and be couragous in a sense to work and reap the harvest. Just because the Master reaps success everywhere shouldnt be an excuse for us to sit on our laurels. It could also be interpreted in mamy other aspects where taking risks is a factor. Like preaching or evangelizing. Example: why should I evangelize if there are people who do that already? You dont take the risk, so you will be cast into darkness. This explains how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I love this parable. There really is a lot of situations this could help in. Yet this is how I interpret it.

But that would ignore hermeneutics: what did it mean to the first hearers? I do not know God as a harsh taskmaster, but the Farisees did. And what you said: I cannot earn my way into heaven. Thank you so much, when I heard about this parable for the first time, the interpretation was completely off…and at the end of the service, we had to state what our talents are so that the leaders could help monitor if we’re starting to use our skills and talents to glorify God. I had no talents and they said that I was probably going to discover one soon… Well now I’m no longer part of the church because I felt controlled-in many other things that I was told were necessary for me to do. Thank God I bumped into this video🙏🏽 and thank u!!! Got so much unlearning to do😩.

Ask Jesus to show your gifts. God brought you in this earth with a purpose. You need to fulfill that purpose and your destiny. Don't know if you've heard of the Beamer/ Judgment Judgment seat of Christ, but we're all gonna stand before Christ and we'll be rewarded according to what we've done on this earth. Find some video's on KZbin, I'd suggest listening to Perry Stone about the topic. I'm also learning about this.

I'm confused though. Isn't talents money in the bible? Like gold or silver? And that is why they said that the guy was lazy for burying it because the least he could have done was put the money in the bank so that it could earn interest. I always thought that it was talking about sharing the gospel with people. And when it was talking about money and interest it was a comparison to God's investing in us and then us going out and sharing the gospel with others. So the interest was actually other souls saved because you went out and shared the gospel with them. I don't know. It hadn't even crossed my mind that he meant that kind of talents. I pictured blessings. The more we are blessed the more we should be able to get out there and bless others and share the gospel. So if someone is given a lot of money, for example, they best be getting out there and doing something for the kingdom with it. Like, look the poor people, who were given way less than the guy at the end, went out there and got several people saved. But the guy given the most, who should have been expected to get the most saved in return, did nothing with it. It goes along with the example of the poor widow who gave all she had at the temple. Maybe you are saying the same thing but just in a different way. I am a grandma and I have brain damage so maybe I am misunderstanding. In this verse below it also seems like wisdom of God's word is important too. The more God's word you know, the more you are expected to be following it? Would you agree? Do you think this might be connected to this parable from Mathew 25? Luke 12:48 “But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” I'm always learning and asking questions. Thank you for your video and your input. God bless you, little brother.

I believe that the talents represented the GIFT of belief as in "Without me you can do nothing," (John 15:5}. and then it is to see what you do with that gift (evangelism). As to put more in the Master's bank is a metaphor of His barn or storehouse as also in scripture. As an aside here, I have been told that we have the WILL to believe. We don't! What we do have is the WILL to want to believe, and to some that is dependent upon what they hear from those who have been given the GIFT to believe, and whether those who have been given the gift of belief (talent or talents) use it wisely.

Mark 16:15 We suppose to share suffering with our brothers, disciples, and Jesus until death is our ultimate victory to get to have eternal life as promised thanks to Jesus risen. But if not then I believe this is exactly what Jesus is talking about because you're not using your talent to spread the gospel as we're suffering along with disciples and Jesus even to death but a huge victory at the end of the race.

Talents is talking about after you are saved. No man can earn initial salvation but after we are saved we gain spiritual talents as we grow in the Lord. Remember the Bible also talks about some Christians will yield fruit : KJV Mark 4:8:some “100 fold, some 60 fold, some 30 fold”: (according to your talents). In other words, everyone that is saved has a place in the Body of Christ. Some have more spiritual talents than others and some will win more souls than others, but if you are one who just warms a church bench and does nothing for Christ; then you will be like the unprofitable servant that will be thrown into hell because you did not even use the 1 talent you were given, but did not allow Christ to work in you and did nothing.

IF Talents means FAITH, why would God give less to some & more for others? This is simply superimposed interpretations & don’t make sense. The parable simply tells us not to be wicked & misuse God’s abundance Grace. In short, don’t be a Selfish Narcissist. Use what you have got & Be of some use to others for crying out loud... One should walk the talk & display Faith in Action instead of simply saying you’re a Christian. I agree. The master would’ve had a different reaction if the last servant tried to trade it and failed or were only able to produce little and said “master I am sorry I wasn’t able to do much with it”. But instead came back with a boastful attitude, blaming his master, made more effort burying the talent, not to mention left it buried underneath the ground when his master came to collect.

We need to understand the following before we interpret the message. 1. Talent story is a sub story. Main story is about a cruel but normally seen ruler of the place who is giving the talent. There should be a reason for making it as a sub story. Main story where the ruler is having opposition waiting to dislodge him, long and difficult journey to the king whose approval required for his continuation and uncertainty of his return are notable points. 2. He indeed returns and opposition is crushed. 3. Though 2 servants doubled their talents both are treated differently. Higher one was given the responsibility of one talent taken away from the third servant. Talents, I think, are not absolute figures but perception of the receiver.

There is no faith without works. The attitude of the heart of the servant with one talent was wicked because he did not act in faith with the one talent given him. Talents I believe are representative of a measure of grace that we have received. To those who have little wrongs they revive little grace whereas those who feel the void or chasm between us and a Holy God will feel a greater measure of his abundant grace. What do we do with what we are given? We should and are called to invest that grace yielding more for the kingdom of God. The context of the chapter points also to this conclusion. It’s about evangelism. This is my opinion. We all have the ability to come to our own conclusions. May God lead us all into greater light.

This guy went into a whole bunch of fluff and tangents. Don't be distracted by the garb. Jesus' parables were literally given unto laypeople. Laypeople then and now understand one thing, capitalism/trade. We share that with those to whom Jesus spoke to. I believe the parable meaning is this: To those that HAVE(be that in money/resources) you are expected to make good use of it(if we are God's servants, then that would mean using it to for what God would want that money to be used for) while you are here on this earth. If you have a large corp then help/give the way a large corp can help/give, if you have anything at all(your time) put it to use for your master that is your lord. Not too complex of an idea. It's literally like a quote from a Spiderman movie "with great power comes great responsibility"

And why is He reaping where He did not sow and gathering where He did not plant. Is this not wrong? No! The master is reaping souls for the kingdom Among the Jews and the Gentiles. The talents represent gifts to all like faith and grace and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Some are gifted to reach multitudes, others are gifted to reach those around them, and some like many Christians today, are believers but do not spread the word at all. They just sit in what they know, and will not spread the word to others. Useless if we are here to turn the world upside down.

It would make sense if you can simply lose your salvation, but you can't according to scripture. Thus it's no longer grace but works. You are saved but if you don't spread the gospel ,(which is works) then you go to hell.???? The Bible very clearly says: "if by grace then it's NOT of works, or grace will no longer be grace. And if it's of works then it's NOT grace, or works are no longer works". It literally says it's one or the other, NOT both!!! So to say you will go to hell if you don't spread the gospel, is works-based salvation then. This is not how I understand God. I don't understand Matt 25, but I do understand the gospel of grace, and this interpretation doesn't fit grace.

Reading the books of the New Testament, we probably asked ourselves more than once: *"Why 2000 years we do not see those miracles that accompanied the Сhurch of Christ in the I century, as described in the New Testament?"* Why do the so-called preachers of Christ have to prove that Jesus really existed and atheists boldly deny the historicity or divine origin of Christ? Maybe because the Сhurch of Christ has not existed for 2000 years? The Сhurch does not exist in the form in which it is presented in the books of the New Testament, but there are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and other christian sects claiming to be the place of the Church, but they not have the only thing that distinguishes the divine from the human and is characteristic of just the Сhurch of Christ -the reinforcement of the word with signs, that is, miracles (Mark 16:15-20). Therefore, some researchers doubt the historicity of Christ, and some of them are not opposed to declaring him a an ordinary philosopher, teacher. But even if Jesus were an ordinary philosopher, his disciples would be ordinary followers of Jesus. And they would not dare to write about the miracles that not only Jesus, but also his disciples, could perform. In this world, the great fertility of atheism can be explained by the fact that there is no main opponent of critics of the Bible - the Church. If there were the Church in our time as described by the authors of the New Testament books, where miracles are performed, the sick are healed, where prophesied, and the dead are raised, no one would doubt the historicity of Christ. Then there would be the same controversy throughout the world as in the first century - Jesus the Son of God or the false prophet who seduces the world by miracles. As a result, we can say that the emergence and development of christian sects and atheism was the result of the fact that over the 2000 years the Сhurch of Christ did not exist. Find *"The Mystery about the Church of Christ"* video on KZbin. The video reveals the prophecy of the disappearance and reappearance of the Church of Christ before the End of the World. Watching this video will give hope to all who sincerely seek God and will interest those who are not too lazy to think freely. A man and his wife have a daughter and in their house they have 2 maids. When the daughter is mature to wed, she finds a husband. The man and his wife have one talent. Instead of bearing fruits to the son in law, they invest only in the daughter. Therefore they gain nothing and lose their daughter to a poor man. If they invest wisely, the son in law receives their talent and with that talent, the son in law makes sevenfold from it. When a man invests in himself or in his family only, it is like putting his talent in the earth. When a man speculates on a good report of a man, it is like putting faith in the Lord. For you know not the stranger within your gates, nor the man that bears wisdom freely.

16 To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. 2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. 4 The Lord works out everything to its proper end- even the wicked for a day of disaster. 5 The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished. 6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided. 7 When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them. 8 Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice. 9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. 10 The lips of a king speak as an oracle, and his mouth does not betray justice. 11 Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of his making. 12 Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness. 13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value the one who speaks what is right. 14 A king’s wrath is a messenger of death, but the wise will appease it. 15 When a king’s face brightens, it means life; his favor is like a rain cloud in spring. 16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver! 17 The highway of the upright avoids evil; those who guard their ways preserve their lives. 18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud. 20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,[a] and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. 21 The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.[b] 22 Prudence is a fountain of life to the prudent, but folly brings punishment to fools. 23 The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction.[c] 24 Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. 25 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. 26 The appetite of laborers works for them; their hunger drives them on. 27 A scoundrel plots evil, and on their lips it is like a scorching fire. 28 A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends. 29 A violent person entices their neighbor and leads them down a path that is not good. 30 Whoever winks with their eye is plotting perversity; whoever purses their lips is bent on evil. 31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness. 32 Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. 33 The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord. I'm confused because the king said to the last servant you knew, I took corn from where he didn't harvest he didn't spread any seeds. So the last servant knew the king was an evil man. The first 2 servants did what a good servant would do. But the last servant had a mind of his own he knew the money didn't come from a good place. So I think the last servant actually lived like jesus

A less conventional interpretation of the parable is that the master represents a ruthless and rich man who commits usery(the unethical practice of lending money at high interest rates), as opposed to God and that the 3rd servant actually did the right thing by burying the money and refusing to partake in the master's wicked schemes and is punished as a result. Hence forshadowing the martyrdom and tribulations that The disciples and other believers of Jesus will face for doing the right thing. I always found it quite strange that Jesus would use the image of a cruel master who engages in exploitative practices to represent himself(God).

@@freegracetruth77LOL, the more I try and understand this parable, the more confused I get. What you're saying in your very last sentence is so true, which just causes me more confusion. Why would God compare Himself to a cruel master, unless the reference is of people who see God as a cruel master, and there's many of them today....aka atheists. But the "faithful servants " are clearly not atheists or unbelievers. I'm confused 😕 🫤 😐 🤔

@@wagonwheelhomestead1043 Maybe the parable is just about believers and unbelievers to some extent. The master gave everyone an amount of money according to their abilities. This could symbolize God giving all his servants (people), who come from different walks of life a fair chance to accept the gospel throughout their lifetimes. The third unfaithful servant chose to bury the master's inheritance, or in other words, he didn't even accept salvation (the gospel). The moral seems to be this, the people that seek truth (accept the gospel), will recieve more truth. And the people who reject truth (the gospel) after they have heard it will ultimately lose the little bit of truth they had. After wrestling with it for some time this is my interpretation of this parable now. Hope it helps

@forbiddenmemez4786 It is helpful, but so are so many other interpretations. It then leaves me with the question, if it's literally something you can lose your salvation over, shouldn't we then have a consensus as to what it's referring too? But then again, your explanation means no one who has accepted the gospel will be the ones cast to outer darkness, if I understood you correctly?

@@wagonwheelhomestead1043 I believe the bible teaches eternal security. Jesus says that he knows his sheep and his sheep know his voice and no man will pluck them from his hand. Once a person becomes a believer they are sealed with the holy spirot and cannot lose salvation. Many would argue that Judas iscariot lost his salvation. However, the bible teaches that Jesus knew who who would betray him from the beginning, so Judas never really believed in Jesus and never had the holy spirit in the first place. A lot of youtubers seem to get the gospel wrong. Biblical salvation is based on faith alone and not of works. Salvation is a gift of God, unlike in most religions where salvation has to be earned.

I am a son of God ( I avoid the word christian as Christian to me means the religion of christianity, & it has a stigma about it, because there was a cult called christians about 1,000BC who were riotous and loose living, therefore they caused the heathen to blaspheme God) who has been saved since 1976, and I always put this on the backburner as couldn't understand it. I do think this is the best explanation of it. One question though, the SERVANT who buried his talent. Doesn't the word servant imply he is a believer, a follower of Christ, and not one who rejects the gospel message??? 🤔

@@glennrobinson7193 , I see. The 3rd one is unfaithful servant. He initially accepted the work assigned by God, but has not done it. Thus he is a false believer, one not bearing fruit= tare= goat

This is a very difficult parable to understand. A works based faith isn’t what Paul teaches. If it is then most ppl who have families work 50+ hrs a week and just go to church & love God may be not going to heaven.

Don’t afraid of scripture, don’t be afraid of what is actually being said. Yes Acts 2:38 is the scripture with regard to salvation. But God really does care about us using what he has given us, gifts, callings, abilities, for his absolute glory and HE expects full fruition. You have diverted this scripture, you have minimized its meaning. This scripture is not about being born again. But God will reward you for your divisiveness. Hell is a real place he will decide who goes there. It is our responsibility to do the best we can with what he has given us faith love joy peace temperance meekness goodness gentleness and long-suffering are the fruit of the spirit of God. No need to candy-coat it! ♥️🙏🏾✝️🔑

I think your mistaken sir. I had to start at John 11 24-25. If we focus on "I am the resurrection" go to Ephesians 2...I was dead in trespasses and sin...Plainly I'm saying John 5;29 is above ground. (I know I'm resurrected) lying Jews early church "a resurrection of unjust" we believe a person will just die unless they receive the spirit....next subject matthew 20;22 is a baptism of suffering. Now going above my pay-grade they are teaching me sleep then 1000years and alittle season physical resurrection. He will baptize you with fire, not maybe.

I have heard quite a few teaching on the parable of the talent and they start with Matthew 25:14 and totally ignore the part where it says "who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods". Their master not only gave each of them talents but he also delivered to them his goods. Items in parable carry a symbolic meaning and words have a specific purpose. Talents are by definition in the Bible weights to measure goods to be sold. I have already given you 2 clues, goods and weights and the last clue you need to find is in the parable of the unjust steward. Read them both together and you will find the answer. God bless.
