Back in the day, I was a PvP Chad in Rust, always rolling with a squad where they’d handle the base building gig while I was out there, guns blazing, losing stuff left and right. Fast forward to now, got myself a new crew, and guess what? They’re clueless about building. And here’s the kicker - so am I. But, guess who got dubbed the master builder? Yep, yours truly. So, I hit up KZbin, found this killer base design that seemed legit, and decided, “Yeah, let’s replicate this masterpiece.” Oh boy, was I in for a treat. Got lost in the sauce right from the get-go. It’s like, “He slaps a square here, oh shoot, but he’s facing that way, lemme roll back the tape again.” By some miracle, I got to the externals. but man, my brain was fried at that point. neurons sizzling. Screw this, I thought, and dove back into my comfort zone of PvP. Lost a couple of guns, shed a few manly tears, and hit the sack.

Just leave twig until you know for sure before you upgrade. I think all teammates should know how to disconnect a TC. One of my mates refuses to use a hammer. They don't play rust anymore.

If you look at 12:59 and pause there, you can clearly see that he has half walls up rather than low walls like he mentioned in the video. Probably just a slipup on his end, something he realised later and changed but forgot to edit in the video perhaps. That should fix it anyway.@@zippy6219

Terrain made it so I had to substitute half walls to get the first raised foundation height for the first bunker, and the roof won't snap to any piece. Does it have to be a raised foundation or am I doing something wrong?

Hello, your design and ideas for the bunkered exterior are really impressive. However, I noticed a mistake in your explanations on how to construct those exteriors. You mention going 4 squares further from the entrance and connecting it with a 4-square frame. In reality, to disconnect those exteriors, you need to build them as shown in the tour. You forgot to include the triangle and added an extra square, which makes the exteriors non-disconnectable. I realized this after spending some time trying to disconnect them. Perhaps a post-edit could assist others attempting to construct them in the future. I hope my English is clear, as it's not my native language. Keep up the great work!

they work fine mate its just a slightly diff version i did out of habbit. you just return to towards the external with squares instead of the triangles i showed in the tour

@@spinky Except that it does change things. First, you state that it's a 4 square satori disconnect, but I watched that part of the video probably 10 times and you build 4 foundations out, but only break 3 back. Second, you state that you can find how to use the disconnect in the tour, but the tour has a different disconnect. And when I try to disconnect by building 3 squares out from the gatehouse, you can't place the roof to break it. I know how to make the external in the tour, but it's frustrating to follow the video and it doesn't work.

@@glajah6380 the biggest issue I had with the disconnecting, both triangles and squares, is that the roof couldn't be placed because it was "too close to another building" or some other error. I probably built the freehand 20 times trying small changes and only got it to work maybe twice. I ended up just using standard disconnects.

honestly the base would be much, much better with the entrance mobility sectioned from the main ring instead of the bunkers taking up the chute space. If raiders have control of your base before it's fully done or the inner ring you have 0 mobility. also I'm 99% sure the grenade truck doesn't deal damage unless placed perfectly. overall nice base
