This Narcissist In Action series is fantastic H.G. The examples are excellent, & your analysis extremely helpful. I always learn things. Thanks for all you do. Interesting how close paranoia skates to very high levels of anxiety. As someone with PTSD my survival instincts are ALWAYS on high alert for finding the trap, because there was always a trap when it came to the various periods of abuse on my life. I'm safe now, but the hypervigilance remains.

My mother would sit in the darken living room peering through the blinds (like it shows in your thumbnail photo) spying on the neighbors. She was absolutely convinced that "they" were "spying and talking" about her. Seriously. She would even call the police on them but they never responded. The police I mean. She would always tell me (as if she was bragging/her choice ) that she never had any friends at school. I never said anything but I thought plenty. That judging from the hard glint in her eyes and her rictus grin, that she was (still) very angry and hurt at being ignored probably teased and made fun of. Except for her oldest sister and a niece, even her family would avoid her.
@Vixinaful9 ай бұрын
Sounds a bit like my mother. She always had the blinds down and spied on the neighbours, convinced they were selling drugs. The other neighbour she thought was a prostitute. Hated having light into the apartment aswell. She lost custody of me later on.. They're braindamsged. The damages can be seen on MRIs and PETs. Look it up, its real sad.

Yep, I thought so, too. He was manic. At one point, he was talking so fast that he was stuttering. It almost sounded like Tourettes. If that's him smoking weed regularly, then what's he like not smoking it?!
@lionessroarsjohnson26849 ай бұрын
@@clarissimaadayinthelifeofa1782 I have no idea. Could this person also have manic depression? Can a narcissist be manic? Is it what he's smoking? Whatever it is its not good.
@lionessroarsjohnson26849 ай бұрын
@@skyleawood2649 I didn't mean this to be funny. Actually he sounds manic. I don't know if it's the narcissism or some other mental illness or the Marijuana.
@clarissimaadayinthelifeofa17829 ай бұрын
@@lionessroarsjohnson2684 Yes, is mania part of narcissism ? That is the question. Probably separate from and not necessarily part of his narcissism, is my take. Other than that as he gets more paranoid, he gets *even more paranoid* and more nervous, so everything speeds up on in him, or in him. I was already wondering from the previous case of the narcissist in action, whether he could be a paranoid schizophrenic, but he wasn't. This guy actually might be, along with happening to be a narcissist, perhaps. Nb. Weed can make you paranoid, but not so hyped up. He could be on other 'pharmaceuticals' and use weed to 'come down'..He might be off his usual medication, as he seems to mention.Or of course, he is just plain bonkers.
