Wow very interesting. I never knew they also used a twin instead of being all special effects, but I suspected they did. Nice to really see and hear her explaining about that classic Hayley Mills movie and her substantial part in it. A shame she didn't get credit for her role in the movie, but at least we now know thanks to this video. She's pretty like Hayley and really looked a lot like her, so much so that I never noticed the difference before. Thanks for sharing!

In many parts it was split screen with Haley on both sides. Susan was only on camera when her face wasn't showing.

How lovely. She is a star! This was the first film I was ever taken to see. The Parent Trap in London in 1961. I was just 4 years old. I absolutely LOVED it & a few years later started a Hayley Mills scrapbook. I even wrote her a fan letter in 1968 & she kindly sent me a signed photo. I had no knowledge of Susan Henning until I came across this today. Thank you for posting it.

I noticed the other girl when they're lying on the floor with cake on their faces in camp, after fighting. There was something different about one of them. I was twelve, but still spotted it. This was very sweet; fun to see her story!! :-)

The only time Susan Henning's face was shown during close-up in the film was after Miss Inch yelled out "You little wretches!" and the twins look up at her. Susan's face was totally obscured with food all over her nose and mouth and she still had short hair at the time, and also, Susan's eye color seemed more different than Hayley's.

I find if you don't look too hard, you can't see much difference. Just switch off your brain and you literally see two Hayleys! Even with cake all over her face, Susan H looks beautiful! ❤

This was one of my all-time favorite movies as a kid and one I still love today. I did not believe my mom for YEARS that two people played the twins. (Not doubting Susan in this video, I was just a stubborn kid.) I'm glad that she was recognized for all of the hard work in matching with Hayley!

They did that with Josh Pence in The Social Network, who played Armie Hammer's twin, with Armie's face superimposed on him. He just shows up as himself for a couple of lines.

WoW 58 years have gone by since the original Parent Trap was shown. Through the power of You-Tube and the video clips that have been sent in we now know who was the stand in for Haley Mills. We also can see how in those days split screen were created. Now it's done by CG. Thanks....

Great that Hayley MIlls' body double tells her story here. It is something I have been wondering about. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes and there are people who 's side of the story you don't hear about, or much. I still would like to know what Susan Henning went on to do. Did she continue to work in show business? If not, what career did she pursue? After all she was a teenager when she filmed the Parent Trap.

Such a cool story. You can tell for an actress that wasn't billed on the movie, she's immensely proud and should be! She did an exceptional job. Te 1961 Parent Trap is one of my favorite movies! I loved Brian Keith and Maureen O'Hara is stunning in the movie. I gew up with Haley Mills as one of myfavorite actresses. I knew Haley had all the speaking parts and was featured as both twins, but the movie wouldn't have been as good as it was if there hadn't been someone to fill in! I love the award they gave her, it's so unique! I would have loved an opportunity like that! I think any girl would. I wasn't born yet when The Parent Trap was filmed. I wasn't born till 66, but the first film I saw at year end school assembly was this movie. I was in Kindergarten, lol! I was totally mesmerized. A few years later when my parents divorced, I lived with my Dad. Rare back then. I remember going to summer camp ad thinking my life could have mirrored the situation! Except I wasn't a twin, I had three brothers who lived with my Mom, I was the eldest child. I remember coming home from camp to find a stranger woman with my Dad. I remembered the movie and thought oh brother! My step mom and I got along great though. Ahhh the memories!

LOL.. that's a face that looks like her 'nose is out of joint.' ;) Could have been one of those unfortunate snapshot moments though, when you haven't got your smile for the camera yet, OR - being about 15 - when you're usually very self-preoccupied, somewhat insecure, and selfish, she was a bit envious and upset that Susan got a special award at that wrap party. I'm sure as time went on (if that was the case) she quickly realized she was "A Star" and this girl went home with many memories and her wonderful award, but no transparency whatsoever for making an entire Disney hit! Those were the days when Disney movies ruled. It's a hard age when you're a young teen; Hayley was used to being the one "made over," I"m sure. In every interview or article I've ever read of Hayley, she is also a very lovely and gracious person, very aware of other's feelings and goes out of her way to be kind and give other's recognition.
