He should be proud."Parker square" has actually been used in actual real academic research! (I forget the paper but it was a year or so ago and was on a video here somewhere). I'm sure in another 100 years someone else will use that paper to generate some other important bit of maths and then some grand theory will come out of it. He could be as famous as the Taniyama-Shimura conjecture etc.

I mean that with all of the original raw footage and edited files for each of the videos would be a great science and math communications library. I remember seeing Graham's Number brown paper in Brady's office in a video somewhere too, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't have the one from John Conway also.

This isn't a video about numbers, nor is it a video about the history of the channel, nor is it a video about Brady's latest project. This is a video about a friendship that has endured for a decade, a kind of friendship where it's perfectly natural (obligatory, even) for one friend to embarrass the other in front of *literally* the whole world. It's really something rare and special, and it genuinely brought a tear to my eye.

One of my first exposure to science KZbin (?) was the Graham's number video with Matt and Tony, and to think that it was over a decade ago is mind-boggling. And I've never been a book guy, but I made sure I had and finished Matt's Things to Make and Do in the 4th Dimension. I wish I had the time to start Humble Pi and this new one, but one thing that 13 years of life does to you is that now you're an adult with responsibilities.

Funny that, if you are okay with repeating entries (but not all entries being equal), we can just do: 25 49 1 1 25 49 49 1 25 Only thing that you might not like (besides repeated entries) is that an entire diagonal is made up of identical entries. Finding whether a magic square exists with all unique entries seems much more difficult.

I remember another MP video where (IIRC) you needed to use all digits 1 through 9 to calculate a number, and one (53, again IIRC) wasn't found, but MP did it using concatenation, arguing that since the other numbers could use it, you should include concatenation the same way you could use addition or subtraction. That paper deserves to be framed also.
