Great track. Of course, this would evolve into "You Can't Miss What You Can't Measure" on the 'Cosmic Slop' album.

Wow, it's interesting hearing this song. Great song, although for me "You Can't Miss..." is probably my favorite ever Funkadelic track. The song is just absolutely funky. The pinnacle of Funkadelic.

Isn't anyone else going to mention Ron Banks' lead on this tune? He went on to join The Dramatics... On the Strength 💪🗽✊🇺🇸
@gnosferatu6673 жыл бұрын
Really?! I thought it was George Clinton singing lead in his own group on a song he wrote! I didn't know Ron Banks was associated with The Parliaments at any point. Interesting stuff!
@KC______3 жыл бұрын
@@gnosferatu667 Can't you hear that it's Ron Banks? I mean it's a much younger Ron Banks but he had a distinctive voice. You are aware that Telma (can't remember her last name) of Tony Orlando and Dawn and from the 'Gimme A Break' tv sitcom once sang with The Parliament-Funkadelic Thang as well? She can be heard on 'I'll Bet You' among other tunes on background vocals.
@gnosferatu6673 жыл бұрын
@@KC______ I can hear it tho! And I didn't know Telma from Gimmie A Break sang with P Funk either although I do know she could sing good.

Doesn't sound like Ron Banks.
@carouselred89942 жыл бұрын
??? Detroiter Banks was on background on this, but George is singing lead. Ron did not "join" the Dramatics, he founded the group in 1964. These facts are readily available.

Way superior to the '66 cover by the fittingly named "Eyes Of Blue" who were forced to record this (in the UK) obscurity by some Decca-executive with a great taste in music, no doubt. They did a great job, but ultimately illustrated why blue-eyed soul is only second best in 99% of the cases...
