Another Good one Jason 👍🏻... Time in the Stand*. This Archery season here in Michigan will be my 40th Year, . A fella isn't going to learn anything unless you put time in the Stand.... Woods skills,

Yes. I was scouting a new property yesterday on public and made a mistake by turning down the wrong road . I looked on the map and saw an island of hardwoods right by me and decided to scout it. Ended up finding acorns and sign and while I was scouting had 3 deer come right to me . One came up to 10 yards before he recognized something wasn’t right and we stared at each other for about 5 minutes and then I had to spook them away. I went with the flow and it turned out to be a “happy accident” as Bob Ross used to say lol I’m starting to learn that the longer I’m in the woods the more I can operate on instinct

I've been hunting since 2010 but lots of that has been on the same ground here in central PA and I've shot 18 does and 2 bucks in my life. I'm planning a 10-12 day hunt in northern PA this year from October 28th-November 13th just to try and learn more about deer and deer hunting. Last year I harvested my 20th deer, but haven't shot a buck since 2019. I plan on changing that this year if at all possible and getting my first archery buck down.

I try to explain this to non hunters or new hunters I feel the longer you spend in the woods with nature hunting something happens. Almost like the woods is speaking to you. Or something is speaking to you it is a crazy feeling almost religious like. It sounds crazy when I try to explain it but to many times have I made weird decisions and im successful because of a feeling to be luck or chance. Maybe it’s a primial instinct that is not understood by academia. Who knows great video brother

I think for me the most relatable example was the one about walking on the ice for sure… and as a new guy shooting a samik recurve I am definitely beginning to develop a feel using it. Good video.

It’s a Bear! In peach tree. Haha just joking. In St Helen it might have been a Bear. I’ll bet I’ve passed you a bunch around St Helen/Grayling. Wish I’d have seen you to shake your hand tell you Thank you.

My Dad hunted before he went to Vietnam and the trauma there caused him to stop and in turn never teach me. I’ve been reading, watching, scouting, questioning, and gone into the field on public land every year since I was 17 on my own and have killed one buck and I’m now 40 years old. Experience is the best teacher when it comes to hunting. I’ve come to the point where I learn a bit more each year but am content with my time in nature. It alone is therapy.

@spudkidmandudebro well said. The time in woods to unwind and enjoy it is the most important
