Hey Ludi, it actually makes sence that Catalan is the primary culture. The union between the Catalan Counties and the Aragones Kingdom was through the marriage of Pirinela of Aragon and Ramon Berenguer IV of Barcelona, the agreement was made being Aragon in a militarly weak position therefore the royal court was located in Barcelona and filled with catalan nobility. At a practical level it became a personal union being Aragon the junior partner, but being the title of king greater than count they adopted the term Crown of Aragon.

As for the shift click, theres a difference between shift + right click, and shift + left click. One of them will fill up to whatever the other country will agree, and the other is the maximum possible - so you can limit to 100 while also using the shift click

I have a fascinating theory to share. The transformation of Athens to Cetina during Aragon's conquest might seem significant, but examining the linguistic structure reveals a plausible connection. In Greek, Athens is pronounced as "Athina," while in medieval Catalan, it takes the form "Cetina," with a pronunciation resembling "Satina." This aligns with Catalan's linguistic pattern known as the "article salat", where "el/la" becomes "es/sa". If we apply this pattern to Athens by adding an article, it transforms into "Sa Atina" (The Athens), evolves into "Satina", and ultimately transitions to the written form of "Cetina". It is not uncommon in Catalonia, Valencia, and the Balearic Islands, to use an article before a place name. It is only a theory I wanted to share, nowadays we say "Atenes" in Catalan. But for me was interesting to see that it was written as Cetines in the past, so I tried to give it a reason why. 😁

Why the culture thing? The name was the Crown of Aragon, as the kingdom of Aragon (the west regions in the map) was gifted to the Catalan count-kings: catalans were the ones that conquered Mallorca and Valencia and repopulated them after... well... some genocide.

Paradox modified correctly that Catalan culture was the main on the Aragon kingdom, instead of Aragonese. The capital was located in Barcelona and the language of the king was catalan since the union from Peronella and Ramon Berenguer. Of course, Valencian and Majorcan are just dialects of Catalan, and in 1444 we can undoubtously defend that Catalan language had wide presence in Sicily, Sardigna and Malta (in fact, Maltese has today a significant amount of catalan origin words). Also, Aragonese language was losing terrain vs castillian in its use in the aragonese region since XIII-XIV centuries. The arrival of castillian Trastamara dinasty in 1410 did not significantly changed the institutional position of Catalan language and catalan officials. Alfons moved the court to Naples and was surrounded by catalan officials, and Ferran II (married with Isabel) was known in Castille as "el viejo catalanote" ("the old catalan codger"), so the awareness of the new dinasty about which was the main nation in the country was really fast.

The thing is Catalonia didn't exist at that time, just some counties, being the most important the County of Barcelona, while Aragon before the Crown of Aragon already held the title of "Kingdom of Aragon".

Just finished an Aragon campaign. Went peasants republic, culture shifted to Sicilian, formed Italy. Played the rest of the game as an Italian Peasant Republic and spread the communist revolution around Europe lol. Got all the unique Aragon achievements as well. I really just wanted to RP as communist Italy and Aragon is the best way to do that.

Just tested with console commands and yes it does. British Culture for +1 Aragon for +1 Pirate/Malaya Ideas for +1 Fetishist Cult +1 gives us +4 off coast and the Kronborg monument in Sjaelland gives a province bonus of +2 for +6

My first restoration of Rome was as Aragon, with the classic change to Sardinian primary culture, become Sardinia-Piedmont, then convert to Occitan with the mission, then form France, then reform into Rome. Then can complete French missions as Rome. Then went to war with all the German minors to make them Catholic. By 1600 I got bored, lays struggle to play into the late game.

Navara is a great PU material, especially if you use them to give them french land and avoid spending too much admin that would stop your expansion elsewhere. Not only that but they can support your economy by pushing trade from france to your nodes. The myth that Navara is a bad PU must finally die.
