From testing experience, unfortunately you CANNOT nest directly in caves/tunnels. Though you can nest near the entrances of such

I really hope they allow raptors to steal eggs! Would definitely add to more hardcore gameplay and it would kind of force you to have to nest with a partner so you can switcy between guarding the nest and hunting. Of course though if you want to nest solo you can just nest somewhere nobody goes.

Ive noticed that carrion actually exists now, as in meat can actually rot over time and become inedible, which actually never happened from my experience. Meat would just lose color and despawn but could still be eaten. I bet the scavenger metabolism will be more useful now hopefully with an actual rot system in the game, and I also wonder if noxious meat will be able to be eaten by some creatures as well.

The idea: Elders, mini stories as quest, examples: Eotriceratops' unique missions: as a Juvenile > find special rocks that will protect your stomach when you eat poisonous plants, as Adolescent > rub your horns on sharp surfaces atleast 100 times then kill a carnivore no matter its age, as sub adult > find a herd or a mate of your same species and successfully kill 5 carnivores without dying > as an Adult > Unique Special Mission that will unlock the Elder Stage > Kill an Adult Tyrannosaurus Rex. Once done you go back to your homecave and become an Elder Eotriceratops, with longer, sharper and bloody horns, scars all over your body which aren't removable, much bigger size and damage, armor, defense and everything really. Same method but different mini stories for every creature in the game, for reaching that juicy Elder Stage and add a mix of new quests and fresh mechanics.

One detail I dont understand is why is there no visible clutch of eggs, I wanna see a bunch of eggs in the nest not just an empty nest then BOOM spawn 1 egg right as its hatching. Like for example if you gestate 2 eggs there should be 2 eggs visable, if you do 5 there should be a whole clutch in the nest... How is that going to work for nest thieving dinosaurs who wanna steal eggs when theres no way to do so..?

I’ll have a full overview soon. But yes this was just from a test that ran for about 10 hours yesterday, from 10am to around 8pm They had some dinos disabled, so likely more tests in the future. No ETA on its implementation, but it looks feature complete so I’d throw out a guess for around Christmas :)

Few things missing: Females should be laying eggs only. Mated pairs can get the nest done faster than solo. Players should mark territory, giving enemies a notification that you are entering someone's territory. Just saying. Also, a new stage should be added after adult: Elders.😎
