I assume some of the writers on the Sopranos were from the Providence area as they had an episode where Tony visits the Mob in Rhode Island in a an old house by the sea and is served "Carvel Ice Cream Cake". Only a local would know that. It is loosely based on real life as Patriarca in Providence and Gotti in NY were related.
@marialourdess Жыл бұрын
Coin-O-Matic still drive by it today. You’d be a fool to mess with Raymond Patriarca. I have to say Rhode Island was safer & more stable then, not all the hoodwinked of today. A little corruption never hurt anyone. Rest in peace, Jack White, RLSP, & Buddy too. I loved watching your well made documentary! Thank you, your vintage footage is stellar. #1 KZbin channel! All the best to you, MOBFAX! -babyshanks

In my opinion- the Patriarca family is the one crime family that still has most of its history shrouded in mystery and secrecy. More so than any other crime family in the nation. It used to be Detroit but Scott Burnstein did a great job illuminating much of their operations the last 50 years or so. I live in Boston and still don’t know a hell of a lot that went on up here in regards to our LCN history.

I grew up in west suburban Boston in an affluent area. When I was just 11I was recruited to sell fireworks for men who paid us to sell out of a van in a supermarket parking lot. Beginning in Memorial Day week all through June and by July 4th we were sold out. Most kids my age had a paper route or were mowing lawns or shoveling snow for extra cash. I was being paid 300.00 a weekend in 1979. That was a big deal for a kid my age. This parlayed into marijuana sales. One day the white van didn’t show up. I was 14 that day and we were all taken into the police department and questioned until our parents arrived. I did not know that I was selling for the Angiulo brothers and the Patriarca family until we saw it on the news. It said “Mob Related fireworks and narcotics bust in Needham”. That was when I realized I was “mob related”. Fortunately, I began piano lessons and never went back to the parking lot but other kids did. Some of whom eventually went to prison for cocaine and one kid mysteriously died of an overdose after a drug bust.

At one time, Raymond LS Patriarca Sr oversaw a family w/two factions, Boston, where underboss Gerry Angiulo called the shots... And then there was the Providence faction, where Patriarca Sr's 'The Office' was established. His family was estimated to have 100-105 'made' men... That's a family large enough to be just as important as a Bonanno or Colombo Family. And Patriarca Sr was Cosa Nostra, through & f@¢king through.
