@@redhunnid5142 yes and no. Brady would have gotten lit up pretty badly, but he also would have thrown almost exclusively short slants. He would have drawn illegal contact calls because the ball would be gone and players just want to hit him. Mahomes has the ability to evade tackles and still make an accurate pass, so his instinct is to draw out the play and try to make something happen. Tom Brady isn't about to leave the pocket for anything, so he would opt for quick throws. He would also not abandon the run, even if it wasn't working. Brady by signing shorter deals forced the patriots to have to keep trying to get good teams because otherwise Brady could leave. You cannot call someone GOAT because they are insanely talented or because they won 1 SB early in their career or how few losses they had. You had to have something that separate you from great QBs to be called the GOAT. For example, Brady got 10 SB appearance, 7-3 record. Manning won back-to-back SB. Montana got 4-0 in SB. @TheDestructodave5203 жыл бұрын
It did hurt the legend of Mahomes. Because people arent gonna remember the O-line issues. People make fun of Brady for losing to Nick Foles but he threw for 505 yards and 3 TDs. Brady's O-line was also beat up and injured, and so was brady, during that Giants superbowl, but its never mentioned. Hes just mentioned as losing to Eli. Thats just how it is. Most of Brady's blemishes were decided by 1 score, and generally he had his team up. But they are considered massive blemishes on his record of greatness and he had to win 5-6 rings before those were even washed away and he could be better than Montana.

O-line issues aren’t going to be remembered? But that’s the main reason why the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl. Every time Mahomes hiked the ball the rushers were always close to getting him but he managed to throw the ball on some plays. The rushers broke threw the o-line letting Mahomes deal with almost getting sacked. Mahomes may have thrown some bad throws but other than that the whole team wasn’t cooperating with each other. It can’t affect the legend of Mahomes if the whole teaming wasn’t doing their job.
@TheDestructodave5203 жыл бұрын
@@matt-sg7ox No, they wont in 8-10 years. You dont remember anything about that Patriots game except the helmet catch and the loss. People dont remember Brady threw for 505 yards and 3 TDs vs the Eagles. They just know he lost to Nick Foles. All people care about is whether you won or lost. Yea, right now its fresh in your mind, and maybe it'll stay fresh longer for Mahomes fans, but 10 years down the road people are not gonna care nor remember the specifics of this Superbowl, just like every superbowl before it. Your gonna remember a play here and there and thats it. A lot of teams go into superbowls and struggle due to injuries but do you remember it? No. All you remember is the outcome.
@matt-sg7ox3 жыл бұрын
So it doesn’t affect the legend of Mahomes knowing that he has only lost 1 Super Bowl and yet has many years ahead of him to probably have more Super Bowl rings than Tom Brady. Patrick Mahomes has only been in the NFL for 4 years and has already been to the Super Bowl 2 times, I’m pretty sure this loss won’t really matter in the future and just be one of those losses that he learned from and made him a better quarterback.

He’s kinda heading down a Russell Wilson route. Enter in on a solid team after a mediocre quarterback dips. Win a ring in first 3 years, lose to Brady in the SB. Then the squad falls apart from lack of cap aka Mahomes Tyreke and kelce were paid far too much for nfl players. Lastly we sit for the next 7-8 years wondering “what if” from their prior SB loss to Brady and continue to chase MVPs and rings🤵🏿

@Archie Bald Yeah, that is what I am thinking. Plus, his skillsets are young person skillsets. Speed and agility decline over time - not by much, but by 1% and possibly more after an injury or a surgery. Turf toe surgery can take 4 to 6 months to get fully back. I suspect he will be fully back by the time the season starts but he might be 2 or 3% less agile and less fast and by the time he is 30, he had better be developing the skillsets that Tom has been working on since Michigan and the thing is, once people get wealthy, they might not want to develop the boring skillsets and once a superstar stops looking like a superstar, many of them retire. Meaning, 5 years ago, when he can't throw sideways and is wealthy and less "special" and when his scrambling around starts ending up with a 25-year old in the future causing the impressive skillset now to be what costs his team 30 yards, most people retire at that point once the Press starts skewering them. In many ways, Tom was never seen as being good to begin with and rarely had anyone overestimating him. It was almost always negative comments about him. Tom Brady never had those fancy-dancy skillsets that are easy to lose. He had work ethic, discipline, focus, efficiency, precision, and other skillsets that an older person can improve over time. I honestly think that the most spectacular players - which Mahomes is one - have a much shorter shelf-life. Once you are rich, you don't focus as well and once you aren't being promoted as the best ever, you have to dig within to find a different reason to keep playing.

He has a huge future but let’s be honest people won’t be able to compare him to Brady until he wins 8 Super Bowls and that’s one tall order thing is it’s plausible depending on how he deals with this devastating loss.
