Sadly Paul Daniels died today 17th March 2016. Such a terrible shame. Paul Daniels was a childhood hero and a magical inspiration to an entire generation of UK Magicians. He will be missed greatly. A True Star.

A Paul Daniel's video showed up in my suggestions and I had never heard of him until about an hour ago...I clicked the vid not expecting much more than to watch a few seconds and move on to something else but to my surprise, I couldn't stop watching! Paul has great talent and is very entertaining!!

Robert Maxwell is a man of integrity. First time I thought I'd hear that with a straight face. I miss the 80s.

Watched this today. Nice to see again. Far superior to almost all of today's output.

Love Paul Daniels. Kris Kremo is by far my favorite juggler of all time. Such showmanship.

I remember seeing George Carl on THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JOHNNY CARSON. A truly under-rated genius. Much like Tommy Cooper...and Paul Daniels, himself.

Hidden trapdoor, velvet cape Still, from death there's no escape Words of sympathy and tact Only underline the fact Death is a lousy disappearing act Lord have mercy and be kind When our faculties unwind Overlook the hat and gloves The tired act that no-one loves There was a time we produced doves Overlook the hat and gloves The tired act that no-one loves There was a time we produced doves

It's a huge loss to the Magical Fraternity. I've enjoyed everything that I've seen posted online of his work. Do you happen to have the Paul Daniels Magic Christmas Show 1982?

Robert Maxwell and disappearing money - something so weird watching this now in 2024, knowing how Bob liked to magic away the pension fund of the Mirror Group before he "accidentally" fell off his yacht.

Bonnie looks dressed to lose her heart to a starship trooper: a Saturday Starship trooper, even! (Maybe she could have got with Shiro Hagen, to console him for losing Lamia!) In a way, I wish time could have been frozen in those days, because Terrahawks (and not CHUNDERbirds or STINKray) was shown on TV.

he,ll be a miss r.i.p. I can remember the programme wipeout where he had a contestant say his famous catch phrase "not a lot" his face (paul,s) was priceless) I like to think he took the joke well though.

I'm still upset because back when I was 13, my dear mother saw one of my worst enemies at a school fair, and thought the bitch "a pretty girl", whereas Mum was less than enthusiastic about my heroine Bonnie Langford's looks! Well, I just hope that my bully may be considered attractive enough to become a magician's "lovely assistant"......and get cut in half!!!!!! And it's still baffling, and disturbing, that some folk seem to hate poor, innocent Bonnie as passionately as I hate my school foes.

My dear Ma's remembered opinion still makes me want to scream & scream & scream! Even though we've recently had more serious worries about her vision (thank goodness, she's recovering).

So how did he do the Christmas presents trick?

The balls were forced on them?
@mrgobrien2 жыл бұрын
@@iamdb1990 there are a number of ways to do that trick - in magic it is either done by "force" or "control". (the main way is to "prime" the guests - e.g. if he said to anneka rice "you are going to be green with envy" and "on god's green earth" etc she is more than likely to then pick the green ball) - but he didn't talk to them much unless he did it backstage beforehand - that is the "force" way because he forced the `choice' to be the one he wanted. or he had to "control" the balls so that they fitted the presents - like a "stacked deck" in cards - so possibly his assistant debbie (via a monitor) saw which balls were picked - and when he then walked to the tree she simply looked at the present that he should pick each time (his assistant didn't seem to have a proper role in the trick since he could just pick up the presents himself really - so her presence makes me suspect that she was part of the trick somehow).
