Also, I noticed that every DLC characters are more broken than the main characters in the roster. The peacemaker's stiffness can be fixed if they change his stance to a little bit more of a fighting stance than to stay standing up straight. The moves he does doesn't match with his stance he goes from standing straight and suddenly doing something, doesn't feel natural at all not even from a superhuman's perspective.

Imma be honest. I am yet to purchase the game. I've been waiting for them to do or add something to the game that appeals to me. I don't do a whole lot of online play but I do a lot of local with my kids and watch them grind the ladders if they wish. So I got something a bit off topic I want to bring up. I know this is going to be a controversial topic. But modern controls in SF6 has been the best thing since sliced bread in my case. It's helped get my 11 yr old daughter into fighting games and we have played on a daily basis since release. We also got Tekken 8 but due to the nature of the game doesn't use Simple Style. Can mash and do fairly cool things. She also quickly realized your move list is gutted beyond belief and the game is way more boring using SS. It has helped make her a fan of the genre and she grinds SF6's ladder. But the fact that NRS is the only one to not even try to introduce something similar to modern controls (sf6) or simple style (t8) is a big let down. At least from my side. It's just something I don't see many nrs folks talk about.

Modern has been pretty controversial but I do agree it lets kids like your own, or people that really struggle with motion inputs get into the game easier. For me that's a big plus. Having it do less damage and cutting down the move list incentivizes players to learn classic while having an easier entry into the rest of the mechanics. People are quick to clown on Modern but your case proves it was a good idea.

The easier modes are so you dont have to give a college lecture to your friend who wants to see the cool moves and do them when they want in a match. Peacemaker moves like Terminator. The character is goofy in a way that he is not very mobile, in part due to his physique, but we have seen him be very agile and stealthy in The Suicide Squad. There's no excuse to have him move like a robot. I will say some of his mechanics look like they have potential but I'm very put off by his movement. The thing with MK is people live off of hype like addicts. The "OMG EAGLY IS THERE" hype will disappear the third time you use the move. The same happens to every hype/nostalgic bit they pull and if there is no substance behind it, it makes it even worse. MKX for all its faults got this part right. Predator for example was full of call outs to the movies, but it was also a complex and unique character in its own right. Man I had such high hopes for this game, but I truly, sadly feel that the foundation isn't there, even if they poured infinite resources.

Why they wouldn't just use green aura Johnny Cage is beyond me. And adding crossplay is a step in the right direction. I don't think the game can be saved at this point. Best case scenario maybe salvaged. I do think they'll get there eventually but as of right now they're doing too little too late.

I appreciate the insight. I always wonder what happens to my comments on occasion, even when I'm not even being particularly 'colorful' as you put it. As for Peacemaker....I mean I know I can just open an internet search, but why should I care? NRS really needed someone game-changing to get people juiced up about MK1 again, and wow did Peacemaker fail in that aspect for me, as someone that never felt the impulse to try MK1 in the first place. He's got that Golden Era of comics look super heroes had back then, which is already kind of a hard sell for me. Face plate looks like he's wearing a mop bucket that melted to his head - tacky as all hell. But yet he's also a 40s or 50s super hero sporting modern day weapons, and playing air guitar? I've never seen a character so inconsistent with design synergy(an oddly appropriate description of MK1 as a whole, now that I think about it). Why is he in this game and who was nagging NRS to include him as DLC? This was the best they could do with John Cena? I'm just so confused with how WB is spending their money, these days.

He looks like he is a old school live capture of John Cena in costume that has been edited into MK1 (like old school original MK). The lighting on him and everything doesn't match the scene. Even tho mkx lacked content compared to 11. The gameplay keeps me hooked till this day. Mk1 is in the same boat, but missing basic features and boring modes is just straight burnout. Especially getting blue balled by more than half the kameo roster. Kameos should be a + one. Not a dependence. My character shouldn’t need one to survive (scorpion). And most characters are only effective with like 1 or 2 kameos. At least X had seasonal towers and kept it interesting lol.

I fear this game won’t be fully done for a couple of years AT LEAST. I’m shocked it even was released with the lack of resources we’re given and the useless updates and patch notes. If anything they should’ve just kept adding onto the game before release, if they did that it would be an extraordinary mortal kombat . They should’ve waited before charging their fans a big chunk of money for an unfinished game . The one thing I love about tekken’s team is they address every issue and question and put the heart into the game instead of brushing off their fans and being sketchy about it. We even got a patch for tekken today without any hesitation. Tekken cares for their game, their players, and the overall experience. Mk1 does not and I’m not going to defend a game that just wants to drain my wallet for content that is useless . I remember I asked for a ps5 specifically to play mortal kombat 1 , I saved up all my money and bought premium on launch only to be let down and angry. Luckily we’ve been fed with the tekken gods but it makes me feel defeated that I bought mk1 in the first place, it feels like I fell for a joke and it’s just so disappointing. I’m going to pickup the game again once this patch comes out but I’m not sure how long the fun and excitement will last, so I’m going into it with zero expectations

Krossplay was the main reason I didn't get the game and all the reasons I heard about after made things worse. If they add Krossplay, partial in this case, but don't fix the desync and other issues, or add even more issues, then that'd be really disappointing
