Very dramatic scenery - I had no idea the Balkans were so mountainous (having never been there!) and the trails look quite clear. Thanks for your lovely films, look forward to Pt2…

Thank you so much. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. This area of Europe has been an eye opener for me. So many other dramatic mountains within sight. I know I'll be returning.

Brilliant video Dave. A very bold choice of route. Fantastic scenery. What an amazing place.

It's simply stunning and I imagine like large parts of the Alps were before mechanisation. The silence is something else.

As always a lovely video; the scenery is stunning. I bet you're glad to be back in 'real' mountains.

I certainly am Andy. The Balkans have blown me away. Now in Kosovo and scenery is staggering. Such lovely people too.

What a beautiful place Dave, you certainly picked an interesting trail there and you’re brave venturing to these wild places. Thanks for sharing your adventure. ATB

Hi Dave. Thank you and I'm glad that you enjoyed Part 1. I'm not brave at all 😂. This is a well known trail and whilst I had the solitude I sought, there were a lot of other people around, particularly in Montenegro and Albania.

I recently completed the Beacons Way (at the beginning of September) from West to East and took inspiration to walk in that direction from your videos a few years ago - it looks like this is another trail I'll have to add to my "to do" list! Really enjoyed this, fantastic scenery, beautifully shot and very informative ... I'm looking forward to Part 2! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Wow. I'm so chuffed to learn that my videos inspired you to walk the Beacons Way. That's so nice to read. I highly recommend this trail with a caveat so if you do ever decide to travel, please do contact me and I'll share my experience.

Immediately striking and beautiful mountains, they look really different from more commonly walked parts of Europe. Thank you for taking us along.

Another beautifully put together video, helped, no doubt by the stunning scenery. The contrast between this and some of the South Wales walks... Is that tent a Vango Helium?
@morgs4mountains Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. The Balkans have stolen my heart and I have walked extensively in the Alps and Pyrenees but not experienced anything like this to date. My tent is a Terra Nova Laser Compact 2.

@@morgs4mountains looking forward to the next part and will admit to being just a little jealous as the rain pours here in South Wales!

That opening scene was majestic Dave, you really do your walks justice with the scenery. commentary and production.I always think when you edit these videos "nothing is fluff" it's all there to help the flow of what the viewer needs to see to get the journey, bravo. What a stunning area although it looks pretty arid there? Was going to ask about the wildlife - I assume wolves might be in the hills possibly? Then I saw the wild dog clip and wondered? You have deffo had your monies worth from the Terra Nova mate, you sleep in it more than your bed 🤣 atb Al

Thanks Alan. I really tried with that opening scene for once! No it's not an arid area. Plenty of water although as it's the end of summer, the water flows are definitely down. The wildlife includes bears and wolves but I saw no sign of either. I did overhear a couple talking about finding significant evidence of bears in another area. I didn't hear any wolves either. The dog was helping guard sheep on the hill and didn't like me walking through the area despite the fact that I stayed well away from the flock. All you need to do is pretend to throw stones and they soon leg it.

It looks glorious & similar in some parts to GR5. What’s the good like?! Love the video & really looking forward to the next installment. Enjoy 👍🏻

Hi Clare. It is very dramatic and invokes memories of our GR5 trip. I've eaten mostly my own food and as per private message to you, now have a water borne issue.

Beautiful footage of the trek. I am looking at doing it myself soon. What did you do to get visa permits to cross all three countries? Did you use a service?
@morgs4mountains2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for watching my videos and taking the time to comment. I used a service to get my permit and the process was very quick. I'd recommend it. www.zbulo.org/services/border-crossing-permits-peaks-of-the-balkans-via-dinarica/#:~:text=How%20many%20permits%20do%20I,overnight)%20no%20permit%20is%20required.
