No animation it was 100+ artist painting canvas for 2 years.

An adaptation of Władysław Reymont's Nobel Prize-winning novel of the same name, the film was produced using the painted animation technique similar to the pair's previous film, Loving Vincent. 100% animation or an even more accurate description, animation overlay.

@@kimrose1559 They took a great, complex, multilayered novel "Peasants" and drastically simplified it to a crude love triangle, where father and son sexually desire the same attractive girl. The girl wanders around all day, doing nothing, which is ridiculously unrealistic in a village in early 20th century, when rural life was tough. The script is about sex, sexual desire, competition between a father and his son for a young piece of fine ass... and about really nothing else.

@@kimrose1559 They took a great, complex, multilayered novel like "Peasants" and simplified and limited it to a crude love triangle between a father, his son and and attractive girl from their village. It's not even a love triangle but sex triangle, because all they want is to possess her sexually. The girl wanders around, all days, doing nothing, which in itself is ridiculously unrealistic in a village in the early 20th century. The movie is basically about sexual desires and jealousy, and nothing much else.

@@fezii9043 Did you read the Polish novel "Peasants"? I bet you didn't. If you did you'd understand. Do you know about the realities of life in a normal Polish village at the start of the 20th century, how harsh and physically demanding it was? I bet you don't. If you did you'd understand. The script is crap. But maybe not for you, maybe you are a person who thinks a movie like "50 Shades of Grey", for example, is excellent and maybe you think any article in a Cosmopolitan or Vogue magazine is true literature and incredibly well done. Levels.
