I'm willing to accept the idea of liking the REVV pedal better, but I can't understand actually selling the KoT, after waiting so long to get one. I'm not even a huge KoT fan, and I have no desire to own one (especially now that the Duke of Tone is available), but there's no denying it's a great pedal.

Hey Gemma! I can sure appreciate that. It kinda comes down to this: being a working musician, sometimes there are times when being a 'collector', so to speak, isn't practical for me. Some units are really nice to own (I had a Klon Centaur way back when too!) but, if you're not using them, they just become expensive paper weights over time. I only really sell gear so that I can put that money back into something that I actually need at the time. Much as I would love to keep everything!

You’re the only person who’s come close to replicating Shawn’s unique style. Props dude! Do you think this would pair better with a higher gain Rat style, a D style or a Nobels style? Pair as in not be redundant. Thanks!

Hey man! That's a tough one- I would say probably something higher gain as it has the low and mid gain thing covered! Also thanks so much - Shawn is my all-time hero!

I don't know that Revv have ever talked about what the starting point for the pedal was. But, to me, it doesn't feel like a Bluesbreaker circuit. I've owned one of the original Marshall pedals from the 90's, a JHS morning glory and the KOT. The Revv is definitely distinct from al of those pedals. Thanks man!

Love Revv pedals. I have the G4 which I picked up for the occasional metal inspired riffs (I’m mainly a bluesy player) but I was shocked to find how touch sensitive and versatile it is. Now I just use it all the time with the gain rolled off as an awesome low-med gain blues rock beast. I’ll need to check out the Tilt now for sure. Great demo 🤘

Sure man! Guitar > Revv Tilt OD > Peavey Classic 50 Head which is going into a Suhr Reactive Load IR (I live in an apartment so the days of miking cabinets are sadly behind me!). This goes into Logic in mono then I add some delay and reverb from EchoBoy and Little Plate from SoundToys.

@@Scratch_Monsters_Golf I’ve got the Tri-Avatar and it nails the TSC vibe pretty well. I think one could make an argument to have both the Dimension and a Tri-stereo chorus on a board, as long as you’ve got the space and money.

Today is 10/26/2023. I have been waiting 63 months and at the rate they make them if I reach the top of the waiting list in the next year I’ll be surprised. So a 6-7 year wait for the King of Tone now. Like you I forgot I got on the list five years ago. When I checked where I am on the list last month I was pleased to find I am roughly a hundred days from my turn on the list. Then in two months they made two days of waiting list of them. At that rate, one day per month with a hundred days left it could be a ten year wait. They make more in the winter because two former employees farm now and can’t farm in the winter so they make more in the winter. Ridiculous they can’t find another person or five to make them.

How did you put your name on the list in 2019 and get the peddle already when he's only serving early 2018 people right now?
@RichardWatson
@RichardWatson Жыл бұрын
It may have been that I'd put my name on the list at an earlier point and forgotten that I'd done so (again)! In other words, I may have had my name on the list twice at one point in time. I certainly remember it was only around 2 years between trying my friends KOT and me getting an e-mail from Analogman. From a thread on The Gear Page, it looks like folks putting their name on the list now could be waiting 10+ years.... Jeez!

What pickups are in the guitar that looks similar to (or is) a Valley Arts guitar? They appear to be EMGs. Maybe EMG SA single coils and possibly a humbucker bridge?

Nah. KoT is way (!) better (and way different). It’s more of a MiB + This thing is way more Fender/Dumble And the Gladio bests it, imo.
@RichardWatson
@RichardWatson Жыл бұрын
Each to their own, man! Both great pedals, I just personally bonded with the Tilt more. I've not tried the Gladio (although it looks badass). However I wouldn't agree that the Tilt is Dumble voiced either; I don't think they were going for any specific amp exactly. For me, it's squishier than a Blackface Fender; (as mentioned in the video) it reminded me a lot of the "feel" of plugging into a Dirty Shirley or a Suhr Badger - yet it can do the chimey thing too. Also the KOT is a Bluesbreaker derivative and, to me, that's not the same as what folks generally think of as being a "MIB" style drive. Anyway, there's no right or wrong when it comes to gear, just preference!
