Torque is not a factor of throttle position, it is all about engine build. What RPM your engine is at when driving etc. Check your specs on the Yota. It will tell you what RPM range gives you most torque. No fiddling with throttle signal will change this.

Scott Short It sounds like pedal torq just makes the pedal position ECU input ramp up faster (so you reach 100% throttle with less pedal movement). If you also combine that with the chip update, then the new chip programming would probably dump in more fuel lower down the revs, if it sees a rapidly-rising throttle input. All of the above would burn more fuel, but probably improves drivability with heavy loads.

RangieNZ Agreed. All that being said, faster throttle response does not equal more torque as the host in this episode claimed. You just get to optimal torque faster, which is not a bad thing. I have a H3 (don't hate) and throttle response is a bit sluggish off the line (5,000 pound SUV mind you). Once you get going that little 3.7L I5 runs like a scalded cat. PCM programming will fix throttle response issue and actually increase useable power and torque. Rock Sliders and Bush guard first, PCM update third. Gotta protect sheet metal from all that power and torque :)

The difference is from the factory you cannot actually get 100% throttle. This will make it so (depending what setting but in sport) when you put your foot flat you actually get 100% throttle not less like you get from factory.

Just makes 50% pedal position apply 100% throttle position or any other ratio you want to set. Nothing magic just faster pedal push and less modulation.
