Enjoy it mate. It's a shame there isn't a few more places to get a drink along the way. It's a nice easy remote walk though 😊😊

Well done chaps. I first walked the Peddars way in 2017 and the dog and partridge closed not long after I believe. A couple of years ago I walked the Peddars way in under 24 hours just to challenge myself. It is a nice trail in my opinion. Look forward to following your channel. 😊👍👍

Thanks for filming your trail Darren, it brought back memories as I walked it over 10 years ago. My lasting impression of the trail was the flatness and either high being flanked by high hedgerows or woodland. The highlight for me was Castle Acre where we stayed in a wonderful B&B and had a great night in The Ostrich. My overall impression of the Peddars Way was it’s a bit underwhelming, but still far better than a few days in the office.

Great vid but not every hole in the ground was caused by a bomb, even if the locals call them bomb holes 😂 Most are marl pits - especially the larger ones. Even a V2 wouldn't make as big a hole as that second one. There are a couple of great websites that have interactive naps for the whole of the UK with bomb / V1 / V2 craters even with dates of impacts. I'm enjoying your other vids too 👍

I rode the pedders way on my 1st bikepacking adventure. I really enjoyed the route. Thetford to Holme next the sea and back. Camped at castle acre. I would ride this route again.

Re supply yourself, go on a recce beforehand and go out and bury a dustbinliner bag at various points with, liquids, water and other essentials, not only does it reduce your daily carry weight but you remove the uncertaintity of not finding anywhere to reauppy on route
@darrencurtisuk
@darrencurtisuk 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, will definitely do that next time! Always the option of posting yourself a resupply box along the trail as well

Losts of pubs in east anglia are now closed and are now private house. Not local normally relocated from london area. Peddars way is a short route. I have done the southdows way from beachy head to arundel you need to average 20 miles a day. Its easier now it was a wilderness when i did it the streach from arunel to winchester is about 30 miles. The bit i did took 4 days and nights. Norfolks pretty flat not many hills but can be misty and ere at night and early moring off the sea and rivers it can be a bit bleak too.

I enjoyed the trail and the company Darren. The start was the best it looked with the forested areas. Gotta say not much joy with the pubs. One casualty there to. But hey one with its doors open and right at the end. Good going. What was your verdict? Mark

Nice trail to get away from it all. I'd like to bike it one day seeing as it's a largely easy track.

I ordered mine back in February, but at the time the site did say they had no materials and were struggling to get hold of them so I wasn't expecting it anytime soon. My account seems to have updated to say that the tent is being assembled now though so hopefully I can test it out before the summers end haha!

@@AMostlyFunctionalJess did you order the 20d or the 40d material? Also didn't you buy the vango f10 helium?
@AMostlyFunctionalJess
@AMostlyFunctionalJess 3 жыл бұрын
I went with 20d. I do have the f10 yeah! I managed to get one outing in it before autumn and winter lockdowns set in. Just trying to pin down a day to head out for a camp this month, although I'm a bit more of a tarp and bivi lover for overnighters. The f10 will stay as my one person tent for now, went with the Stealth 2 for camping with my partner and for when my best mate comes over to do long distance trails with me.

@@AMostlyFunctionalJess Nice. I added a little bit of shock cord to the bottom of the side tie outs on my stealth to help securing sides out as it could get flappy I suspect

Great video as per usual Darren !!! I like the look of The Peddars Way. Only 47 miles so not too tiring. I like the look of it. People should know that there isnt anywhere to get food or drink for was it 23 miles ? Was there many places that you would feel comfortable to wild camp as doubt any campsites. Did you come across any other people walking it ? Also the Cleveland Way looks great. 109 miles so less than C 2 C. Well signposted too. Will you walk it this year my friend ? Thankyou.
@darrencurtisuk
@darrencurtisuk Жыл бұрын
We only saw dog walkers & the occasional cyclist. There are plenty of Wildcamping opportunities. No chance of resupply until you reach the services on the a47 The Cleveland Way is very likely to happen this summer, it looks great with half in the Moors & half Coastal path
@andrewsmith8883

@@darrencurtisuk Thanks for your reply Darren. Yes I never saw a single walker on your video on The Peddars Way. Quite a lonely walk I imagine. Walking 23 miles before being able to purchase supplies might put people off. The Cleveland Way will be like a walk in the park compared to the C2C I imagine. Because only 109 miles opposed to 192 miles C2C and The Cleveland Way is extremely well signposted I am led to believe so no chance of getting lost. Im hoping to do The Cleveland Way this year too. Are you bringing Stuart along with you Darren ?

Hi, OK so it's a mile before you cross the A148. As you walk down the trail you will see that stone monument thing, we turned left up a track and camped at the top where the little wooded area finished. You might be able to see Nut Wood on a map, that was to the right off the track. Thanks for watching
