it's really cute and cool to find people interested in weird and unusual openings, the beginning is my favourite part of chess; I thought it was a variation in the valencia opening when looking at the miniature (I imagined a pawn on d3 rather than d4)

This new opening seems to have a semblance with the Stonewall system which I like so much but is not so easy to attain. I could now switch to the Pegasus opening system with confidence! Thanks so much Master Van Dael! 😊👍

Glad you like it, you can always try it out to switch things up every now and then!

I’ve seen videos of variants of the Colle system with c4 instead of c3 but moving the light square bishop out before the Pegasus knight. It is not clear to me why moving the knight before the bishop would be preferred.

Great video , earned a subscribe, I am a Colle player (both systems ) and the move order here is very nice with the ability to get a much stronger center if black does not play main line , making it a bit more aggressive, with scope or some interesting novelties I would absolutely like to investigate the potential lines from this system attacking the KID etc👍
@Pegasus-Chess2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I often call this an "improved" Colle since you can get an early e4 and it's a bit more agressive with the early c4 as well against d5 variations.

At about minute 15:27 you moved Re1 but I believe you had just moved Qh4 with no black move in between.

Did anyone ever try the rosen trap against you? d4 Nf6 Nd2 e5 dxe5 Ng4 h3 loses because of Ne3!! Yeah obviously you shouldnt play h3 and just develop, still a funny move ngl
@Pegasus-Chess2 ай бұрын
Not against me, but I know it was played again one of the subscribers who now plays the opening. It can be really tricky if you have never seen it since h3 looks natural and instantly loses the game!

The cow opening was invented ... so this could be the flying cow ... or bull ;-).
