I want a slav defense player. My cousin is a new player and needed a d pawn opening for black and only played caro Kahn. The good news is you can play the exact same first two moves against D4 and it's the slav instead of the caro Kahn! The slav is a great option against d4 for caro players because you can play the exact same first c6 and d5 against literally anything!

I’ll have to check this out as a caro kann player myself, thanks!

No, you lose a rook because white will play b7. Then it all crumbles to pieces

This new opening seems to have a semblance with the Stonewall system which I like so much but is not so easy to attain. I could now switch to the Pegasus opening system with confidence! Thanks so much Master Van Dael! 😊👍

i feel like u are playing so many prophylaxis move which is nt good after white has castled..bcs white doesnt really need to play c3 and they cn play c4! directly to break up black centre!!.. since black has nt castled yet
@Pegasus-Chess4 күн бұрын
Thanks for you comment. This is the way I like to play it with slow build up and solid moves to strike later on in the game. I like preventing plans and taking away all moves from white before going on the offensive. The early c4 is covered in the last variation.

Should I trade a bishop for a knight if it doubles the opponents pawn?
@Pegasus-Chess6 күн бұрын
Usually yes, unless if the doubled pawns are on f-file or c-file and you can't attack them easily since those doubled pawns can help support the center.
@VKMsdRO6 күн бұрын
@@Pegasus-Chess ok thanks 👍
@VKMsdRO6 күн бұрын
If there are more pawns on the dark square in the endgame, a dark coloured bishop might be useless but knights can just maneuver and come into play so I too agree with you knights are better 👍👍

Please continue this series, also share your game reviews on the match you play. Even one match per day would be great because the way you explain these moves, it is helping me oin my thinking in chess.
@Pegasus-Chess6 күн бұрын
Thanks for your feedback and support! I'm bringing this series back. I realized that if I only post gameplay videos, the channel grows slowly so now I am posting more openings. However, creating both a game video and an opening video every day is challenging. I’ll definitely continue the series, but I’ll need to find a way to fit it into my schedule.

Please make some videos on trades in middlegames? Also for you personally which is better, bishop or knight?
@Pegasus-Chess6 күн бұрын
I personally like knights more but I will always go for the best plan even if that means giving up a knight. This video should help you in which I explain what piece is better and when to trade. kzbin.info/www/bejne/emjEe3dpg5V-i7M

@@Pegasus-Chess love to hear it because resources on this r so limited and ur very instructive, because while the engine helps the human explanation really breaths so much content into the video, such as the bayonet attack in the Caro kann I always thought it was a for a tricks only openings but now I’m more educated and undertand that it has tricks but is completely playable
