It’s because of the sugar tax here in the UK, that’s why all the best drinks have been ruined trying to avoid the tax by using artificial sweeteners (RIP Lucozade 😫). I lived in Türkiye (no sugar tax) and the same drinks with sugar tasted just like the original, old days, massive 2.5 litre bottles and cheaper too.

No commercially available drinks in the UK really contain real sugar no more. Occasionally you'll get a full sugar special edition for a few months, but thats mad rare still. Only full sugar drinks you can really pickup now are those imported from other countries, and occasionally a small/local brand you might stumble across.

If you want full sugar drinks find an off-license that sells American cans. When I find them they usually sell all different fanta (grape, mixed berry, pineapple), loads of types of Mountain Dew, sour chupa-chupz, and all sorts of weird stuff. Also cream soda and vanilla dr pepper but I'm not into those flavours.

I'm with it, don't touch drinks with asceulfame k or aspartame in them, not for health reasons, I can just taste the nasty artificial sweeteners as opposed to the sugar in coke or cherry coke. Fanta pineapple is clear and old retro style cans of dr pepper or Dr pepper cherry. That's about all that's left though with no artificials in though.
