I'm not understanding whats confusing about this to you. Matt Reeves is doing his own universe, at least with Batman's world he is. It's not part of the DCU. Reeves version is more grounded. Gunn is DCU, his has the fantasy more comic part of DC, Superman , Batman, Green Lantern eyc. James Gunn labels everything outside the DCU as Else World.

To answer Tre's question, it's simple: if it's not part of James Gunn's DCU canon, then projects like Batman: Caped Crusader on Amazon Prime or Joaquin's Joker or the Matt Reeves Batman crime stuff is Elseworlds. Simple enough to understand. Anywho, this pilot episode is S-tier! Phenomenal performances across the board. I'm SO hyped for the next episode.

It was a good first episode for me. Looking forward to season 2. I agree because all these DIFFERENT versions of the same characters are confusing. Especially for those that grew up reading the comics and watching the shows during that time.
