where is Batman? Maybe he doesn't care if the different crime families are killing each other? Something tells me he will be mentioned and maybe some of his actions will be used in the plot but I don't think we will have a cameo.

The answer to where is Batman, was kind of answered for fans in the newspaper bits they shared around during marketing - apparently, Batman's missing and hasn't been seen for 2 weeks. And Matt Reeves says whatever Batman is doing, and wherever this show ends at, that is exactly where the Part II will pick up from. So they'll probably answer the "whereabouts of Batman" when the film comes out.

In an interview Matt said that after the events of the film, and "missing" for 2 weeks, he's "reflecting" on himself and everything in his life apparently. Makes sense.

In the comics sofia is called sofia gigante and she is nearly the same size as batman. Shes strong and feared...nice how they interpreted that here

The Falcone kid is played by Michael Zegen, who was in “Rescue Me” and was Joel Maisel in “The Marvelous Mrs Maisel”. Good actor.

And Milos is played by James Madio, who most will recognize from Band of Brothers. And Johnny Viti is played by Michael Kelly, famous "that guy" who usually plays a fixer, bureaucrat, politician or agent in pretty much any crime show you have ever watched - usually with a corrupt or sinister undertone.

this was so good. not just excellent writing and acting but the cinematography and the music omg the soundtrack was amazing. everything was top notch. emmy worthy. In this episode Penguin gets his "Robin".

@@Hobodeluxe007 if you like a sopranos where is this true to the comic other than his walk what is it that makes him the penguin there’s nothing it’s more like a gangster series nowhere is this like something out of a superhero/ villain universe just a sopranos type gangster series with the title penguin slapped across it these movies and series are steering so far away of what superhero movies are it’s scary there becoming thrillers typical action thriller movies and series there not something out of the dc universe it’s supposed to be a supervillain he’s more like Tony soprano or a character out of goodfellas ok if you want a crime gangster series but this is supposed to be out of the dc comics universe Batman universe and it doesn’t feel like it

In one episode we learned that he’s a gangster but not totally cold blooded (sparing the kid trying to rob him), he has a loyal crew (drug den), he’s underestimated by most people around him, he’s insecure, he’s a product of a bizarre childhood, and that he’s very intelligent (orchestrating a gang war). In ONE episode. Disney Star Wars has entire seasons that tell less story.

Don’t get me wrong, Colin Farrell is doing great work as Oswald. His line delivery is great and he really disappears into the role. But, man, Cristin Milioti is stealing every scene she’s in. She’s somehow playing someone who is off her rocker and yet 3-4 moves ahead at the same time. I can’t imagine to play that any better.

This first episode was very good and really promising for the rest of the shows, all the actors seem excellent, if you want to read an excellent comic with Sofia Falcone I recommend it (Batman: Dark Victory).

He definitely would, but given the events of the 1st film I’m assuming he in hiding figuring out a new approach to being Batman as the end of the first film suggests That said initially at the start of his career mobsters were his main antagonists. But at a certain point “the door is kicked open” to a new breed of criminal aka super villains that end up being his main priority from there on. That’s isn’t to say he’s above coming after these types of criminals, but he kind of lets them be if they aren’t making to much noise

Just a reminder...Batman has NEVER been able to completely wipe out crime in Gotham. So he's around...but he's not EVERYWHERE. It looks like the goal of this show is to flesh out the WORLD that The Batman lives in. Much like the show, Gotham. It is about the world of Batman. Not the Batman himself. I highly recommend the show Gotham. It's Gotham BEFORE there was a Batman. Other media appearances you might want to check out is playthroughs of the Arkham series of games. Looking forward to rhe next one...just a bummer, we have to wait until Sep. 29th. Next Sunday for episode 2 to drop. Then each Sunday a new episode comes out.

If we look back and make a list of really good superhero movies/shows 1. Captain America Winter Soldier 2. Netflix's Daredevil 3. Batman Begins 4. The Dark Knight 5. Matt Reeve's The Batman Theres similar formula here why are all these studios messing around with other formulas when clearly its unanimous that this is the only popular type of story telling

To be fair Steven I liked the movie but prefer the Christopher Nolan trilogy, problem with Colin’s penguin he doesn’t look act like the penguin that’s the problem he’s more like a gangster out of a gangster film the problem with this series is it doesn’t look feel like anything like a superhero/villain movie or series looks more like the sopranos to me the penguin carry’s a umbrella with a built in gun a cigarette holder with a cigarette in his mouth and has a quack straight out of the comics or early movies or series with Adam west and burt young and burgess this doesn’t look feel like anything superhero or villain wise just a GANGSTER series more like THE SOPRANOS / GOODFELLAS that’s the problem since when has Oscar cobblepot been Italian American ?? nothing about this smacks of a Batman superhero or villain series that’s the problem more like.
