Oz struggles with being chosen. That's why he snitched on sofia and why he surrounded himself with a hooker hes always trying to impress. Even in his flashbacks with his brothers, it always makes it seem like they're happy together, and then he's just there

that moment for me was when it finally clicked why the Penguin kept Victor around despite him essentially being a financial burden in some instances. the penguin wants to be that revered mafia boss who he talks about in the first episode so when he finds out from Victor that he feels like he is essentially being "hostage" his vision starts to fall apart.

This episodes opening was so jarring. Seeing the flood from Vics perspective was so tough to see and I was shocked with how well done the effects were. It really humanizes Vic and makes us care for him which is going hurt a lot more if our theories of how his story ends rings true. Cant wait for next week. Somehow this show gets better and better every episode.

Completely agree with you. I feel like it’s because we really haven’t seen anyone with powers so far. Like a lantern ring or a magical mask or anything of that sort. I mean we don’t see that stuff in captain America movies (other than the super soldier serum), which those are my favorite. But most of the universe in marvel is now about powers or magic, which obviously elevates the universe to not being grounded. I feel like once we see a villain with “powers” then it won’t feel as grounded as it may be now, but I could be wrong and hope I am. Matt reeves’ universe is really good, and I honestly didn’t expect to like it that much. I think another reason why is because of how “real” and “up to date” this show/universe is. It is more realistic in a sense that we see the modern tech and they use certain modern items, we would see in the real world. It’s more down to earth as well, every day people. Along with mob like people, that’s happened in Boston and Chicago (and others). Al Capone (Chicago) or Whitey Bulger (Boston) or the Patriarca Crime family (Boston/Providence area).

Hell yeah. Grounded = real. And you're a lot more likely to be able to relate to the threat of a city being flooded and lives being lost to drowning rather than a big purple alien trying to kill half the universe with his magic glove and space rocks. LOL. And I couldn't ever imagine Vic and Oz figuring out time travel in like 10 minutes to reverse the Riddlers actions. This show is AMAZING.

He’s normally real chill when he’s one on one with Penguin🙏🏾 Another thing that immediately jumped at me was the juxtaposition of Victor’s character with the more recent Myles Morales/spider man (Marvel). I totally loved this episode man! It had the most heart yet. The characters are getting comfortable with each other and the actors are getting comfortable with their characters as well as the other actors. It feels like I’ve been in this world with these people for a lot more than 3 eps…and that’s really telling about the quality of what’s being given to us through this show. I keep loving it more and more each week and I was hooked less than halfway through the 1st episode. Can’t wait for what they have in store for us. I CANNOT say enough about the acting from our leads especially Colin. He makes me forget that that’s him under all that until I actually remind myself again and again.

Definitely wondering if some foundation is being laid with Bliss and if with some alterations are made to it by a certain doctor if it will be used to bring about fear in people instead. Feels like they could easily go that direction if they wanted to. Scarecrow is probably the number one villain I'd really like to see in this universe. I just feel like they could really lean into the horror aspect of that character and really produce some terrifying images on screen.

Batman is still very new in this universe and hasn’t created a giant presence. This is highlighted in one of the first scenes of The Batman where the group of thugs don’t even know who he is. I like this decision because it gives Gotham life and really makes this feel like its own living breathing city where real things happen outside of batman. I assume Batman isn’t involved in knowing of this ongoing crime war because it’s going to build up to something in the next movie.

Another great episode! That scene in the restroom with Oz and Vic, and the scene at the end with Sofia were the best parts of the episode. Also another clue, that I’m not too sure Boba pointed out was when Sophia and Vic were in Oz’s apartment and Vic mispoke and said “cars” instead of “car” potentially hinting at how Oz has more than one car to Sophia. Which in the last episode Oz told Sophia about his “dead” mother. This all could lead us to the the point of the story where Sophia has her men kill Oz’s Mom or Sophia does it herself, cause she is obviously smart and would put the clues together. We’ll probably get more hints for Sophia at some point, but I really could see this happening.

This show just keeps getting better and better, I couldn't be much happier with what we're getting right now and excited for the future of this show and this saga! The only thing that slightly annoyed me was when Oz let Vic go so early after half the episode was building up tension over what he do to him when he found out his plan. Don't get me wrong, for the most part I loved that scene, but I just wish at the end Oz said something along the lines of "I should've blown your brains out when I found you, and if I had any sense I'd do it right here right now. Now get out before I change my mind." Just to see that he's not soft and part of him is more than ready to kill him if he's not useful, even if his sympathy for Vic wins out in this instance.

I would be really surprised if Victor survived the show. They’ve been “acting out” his death since the pilot, first with the “look at the sunrise” and then forcing him to get lie down in a grave surrounded by bodies. And now Oz is getting so hostile at even the suggestion of Vic leaving. Plus that scene in the pilot where Sofia asks if Oz is willing to let an innocent kid die. My prediction right now is that either Oz or Sofia will kill Victor. Again, I’d be surprised if he survived to Batman Part II or just escaped Gotham a la Jesse Pinkman, but who knows. This show has been really unpredictable so far.

Ngl, this sounds horrible, but a possible theory and “want” is that somehow either Oz or Sophia or the Maronis find out about Garciela and kill her to put Vic over the edge that way he’s all in with no hesitation and no limits and we see a true side of Vic.

Okay so I have a theory it’s very far fetched but I feel that vic will become Matt reeves robin, first off are all the parallels to his introduction and Jason Todd’s, and then the fact that his parents die at the hands of a villian like dick, Jason and Tim. So anyways apart from that I feel that penguin will kill Vics girl and then pin all of his dirty work on vic, vic becomes a target and at the end of the show might go into custody. Picks up the Batman part two maybe dent is introduced and him and Gordon question vic about the penguin and the new drug bliss and vics personal life. Maybe dents a friend of Bruce Wayne and convinces Bruce to take vic under his wing. Vic finds out Bruce is Batman and wants to help him take down the penguin after he killed his girl (can’t remember her name) and penguin sort of becomes the Tony zucco for this robin but instead of killing his parents he just ruins his life more. I don’t know if this sounds too far fetched but it’s something that’s crossed me mind 😂😂
