Sofia Falcone first appeared in the comics "Batman Dark Victory", a sequel to the comics "Batman The Long Halloween". The fact that she is the daughter of Carmine Falcone and the serial killer known as "Hangman" comes from the comics as well.

The person at 1:06:24 was long confirmed to be the one and only Tom Bombadil from the books. He is unique in the sense that Tolkien himself left it a mystery as to who or what he is. What we know for sure is that he is THE oldest being in Middle-Earth, even more so than the Elves and is shown to be the only person completely unaffected by the One Ring.

I actually liked first season of Rings of Power. Granted I'm a VERY casual LOTR fan and had zero expectations to begin with...but I enjoyed just kind of chillin' and vibing in Middle Earth at a slower pace. That's kinda what I wanted from a tolkien series (that wasn't a movie) anyway. Thought they set up a pretty good foundation. Season 2 continues on in the same vain and interested to see what they do with it.

@@InstantAquatics I do agree a lot of the blame does go to the Tolkien Estate. But in my opinion these writers have done a horrible job. Even with just the material from the Appendices they could still have created a more faithful adapatation of the second age of Middle Earth and Numenor. They should have been more respectful pf Tolkien's secondary world. The Casting is completely ridiculous and his themes are all but ignored.

The glowing eye creatures are apparently the Barrow-Wights. They are the corpses possessed by malevolent spirits who appear the Fellowship of the Ring book but unfortunately did not make it into the films due to time and relevance to the overall story.

The only problem is the Barrow-Wights didn't appear until the Third Age. They weren't in existence in the Second Age. They came after the downfall of the kingdom of Arnor.

Absolutely adored seeing Tom put his hat on with a smile like i feel hes about to break into a song 🥰 and the Entwives, i got Chills when the Stranger says 'Is it my task to stop Sauron'. Cant wait for this and cant wait for your reactions too, Olorin is Gandalfs name in the second age which is what im hoping will be revealed or they just call him Gandalf, they made me cry at the end of S1 when they followed his nose 😂

I really liked season 1 of The Rings of Power and I can't wait to watch season 2. This trailer was awesome. I read almost all the Tolkien books and I don't get why people get so upset because they are making changes on the storyline to fit everything together. Imagine how boring would be this show if we had to wait 5 seasons just to start the action. 😅

So the ‘new’ Sauron, his name in the books is ‘Anatar the giver of gifts’. I’m thinking due to copyright reasons they changed it to ‘sharer of gifts’ because Giver of Gifts is in the Silmarillion and Amazon doesn’t have rights to that book.

Honestly Rings of Power definitely had its issues but when it comes to staying true to the source material, the movies did not do a great job either. He isn't even an eye in the books (that was a creative decision by Jackson, he is referred to as having no physical form after he lost his finger with the ring in both the Silmarillion and Fellowship). In the movies Gandalf is saved by his transformation but in the books he dies and is resurrected by Iluvatar's power. While its frustrating to see some continuity errors in the Rings of Power, the fact that people don't talk about the movies in the same way is pretty hypocritical. I think we should just be happy we are still getting LOTR content.

Sauron in the Lord of the Rings has a physical from.with only nine fingers on his hands. I think it is discriped in a sceen about Gollum's torture.-Also when the movies came out there were a lot of crtical voices among hard core fans. A friend of mine for example hated that they gave Arwen so much screen time when she is hardly in the book. Another guy in school complained that Aragorn is played by a beau. And for my part I still don't like how they changed Framir but I can understand the reason behind it.

Yes there are things from the book that we would probably have kept in for the movies. But ROP is much worse. Jackson at least respects the essence of Tolkien's vision.

The physicalities and how unhinged yet ironically comical he was (always the butt of the joke without meaning to), how off putting his facial features were. Not a Wizard, Tom Bombadil, it make's sense for him to appear since he was in middle earth before Melkor/Morgoth & Sauron. Also will make fans happy since so many were upset he didn't show up in Fellowship. The other guy wasn't Saruman, it was Pharazôn who you meet in the first series politician from Númenor. In lore he is Ar-Pharazôn the last king of Númenor. I'm still hoping the Stranger isn't Gandalf, & it's maybe one of the Blues or Radagast ....it's to earl, but they are setting up his friendship with the halflings so I'm going with a change of timeline.

The big Battle in the Rings of Power S2 will play out over 3 episodes. It might be the biggest battle displayed in a Tv series, so im very excited for that. Im also looking fowrad to what will happen with thw Balrog. And i think you guys are not ready for what will happen to Celebrimbor, according to the books...👀 Personally I really liked Season 1 and I dont really get the hate. I think it was majoritarily trolling because it was pitted against House of the Dragon and just being dishonest and ill intended (with a lot of sexism and blatant racism). If one is a true lover of fantasy, (im a fantasy writer), then one only can appreciate what they're doing. This season looks even better than S1. This trailer was definitely NOT better than the whole of season 1. I feel like a lot of people got way too caught up on " it's not 1:1 canon it doesn't make sense" instead of allowing the season to tell it's story. People were LOOKING for things to poke holes in. You cannot make a story about these events and set them thousands of years apart because literally nobody but the elves, Sauron and wizards will be consistent characters between episodes. The only CGI that wasn't great from the 1st season was the warg... I cannot think of anything else that looked bad at all. A lot of people will say "oh they saw the reaction to the first season and decided to stick more closely to the original material for this era (which is just a bunch of Tolkien's notes btw, there was never a clear story, just a bunch of dates and events). But thats not the case, the scripts were written for season 2 before season 1 even aired

Why couldn't Amazon just wait to produce a series until they had the rights to use everything from the Tolkien estate? They're working off of limited information and limited leeway and the only thing that they have going for the series anymore is spectacle. I cannot overstate my disappointment in this series and the fact that it's not a direct representation of the Second Age as it should have been.

Peter Jackson changed and left out SO much material from the books.. and they were full fleshed out stories! We never got a full story from Tolkien on the second age btw, it was pieced together from his notes about dates and events.

Season 2 is following the darkening of khazad-dum, the usurpation of ar-pharazon and the fall of eregion and the forging of the 7 and 9. I’d recommend giving it a try after the disaster that was S1 purely for the fact it’s actually following canon plot points.
