Only watched reruns of the show in the late 70s, but loved it. I listen to all genres old and new. Mr. Welk certainly had class and maintained a clean image all the way. Grateful that this clip was uploaded a bit clearer. Miss shows like this. Makes me sad that no one today have enough imagination to create anything worth listening to, with an occasional exception here and there.

When your band shared players with Frank Zappa, this surreal bit is easy to pull off. Welk's guitarist Neil Le Vang played Strat on “Who Are The Brain Police?” on Freak Out! and other tunes with session players. Millions of people first saw a Fender strat after Welk hired Buddy Merrill in 1955. They played what Welk paid them to play. Millions of fans said there’s nothing wrong with that. Wild bit of cultural generational tension

Not only a viscous and on-target spoof of the so-called "culture" of the Charles Manson Generation, but Lawrence had the last laugh, as his musical empire outlasted most of those hippie rock groups by decades.

It is all satanic africanized trash. It is pushed by every corporation, by all the government, by television, by all the forces of this world. And every last western nation has completely lost and forgotten ALL of it's traditions and have been completely overturned by this tasteless godless filth.
