As a young adult I was obsessed with these “Weird Tales”-era stories along with Bierce and Blackwood and the like, and I’ve never met anyone who shared my passion for them. So I consider this channel a godsend, like I’m communing with friends I’ll probably never meet in real life.

I am an American who is quite the Anglophile when it comes to writing, stories, and narration. This isbitterly amazing. You, sir, are the king! What an adventure story! Hey man, I'm a Inspired author And I was wondering, how do you narrate your story? every time I go on camera and try to narrate my own stories. I always mess up the lines. How do you record yourself and not mess up the lines?
@tamlandipper295 ай бұрын
I can't answer for Ian, but I suspect the sheer practice is importance. He's done incredible hours of weird and horrible tales. I think his bandcamp bundle is over 350 stories!

@@solved-in-the-dark I don't think Ian memorizes (I think my head would explode with that much data stuffed into it). Try having a copy of your text just below your camera or just above it (check to see which one looks more natural.) and experiment with text-size so that it's a simple 'shift of gaze' to go from reading to looking at the 'audience'. Ian's also got the advantage that he's not on camera. He could be lounging in an armchair like Alistair Cooke for all we know. (Not a bad image.)
