@@xJohnwheatiesxI agree with that, and that he stole his entire schtick from nick Mullen and then did it a hundred times worse, and that his monologues about why being a liberal is awesome are very low IQ, but at least he tried for comedy. I don't blame him, if it's a choice between a more consistent paycheck of doing podcasts or rolling the algorithm dice on a site that's already marked him "undesirable", the former is the obvious choice if you want financial stability. I wouldn't want my livelihood to depend on a site that tries to sabotage me at every turn either.

I am a big architecture buff, and while preferences on the way buildings look really is at it's core subjective, my biggest problem with architecture in the modern world is that newer buildings lack identity. There was a time where you could tell the difference between cities based on the way their buildings are designed, their facades, they very much seemed to fit a theme. Where today, cities and towns just go with whatever is currently "the style" and it makes places look like a gross mish-mash of different styles. To the point where if you were plopped into Seattle, New York, or Oslo, you'd be hard pressed to know which is which (until you actually asked someone) Not to get too gay about it but it also shows that back in the day, people were willing to put a lot more effort into the way buildings looked. Nowadays it's just glass, concrete, and steel in various cuboid and trapezoidal shapes.

I think it was in a documentary about Corey Haim.

The amount of parents who allow this shit and don’t report it, just reminds us parents are just people who got pregnant. It’s not hard for everyone, there’s no barriers. We socially elevate people just for being parents when it’s literally nothing special and doesn’t make a person any more or less than they were before. I think most kids are accidents and most parents just treat them like that because they didn’t I tend to have them.

But it’s all in the south side and often time gang related isolated events super late at night not near any public places. It’s an issue but it also like doesn’t affect 99.9% of chicagoans. Their take on architecture I feel is half true, there are still political/ social connotations to architecture being more utilitarian than artistic because of the post-modernist movement, and movements adjacent to its ideology such as Soviet apartment complexes designed to be only utilitarian as well as mind numbing for the sake of totalitarianism. However cost is also a huge contributing factor of it since the materials are cheaper and often times less harmful to the environment than stone/ marble structures

So about the architecture discussion, it’s worth noting that a lot people in the 1800s-1920s hated the buildings being built at the time, there are writings of people saying that those buildings were ugly and soul crushing and that the buildings of the 1600s-1700s were so much better And guess what, there were people in the 1600-1700s that said the same thing about buildings from the 1300s-1500s So while I agree that Chris has point about every building everywhere being the same is dull and boring, it also worth remembering that there exists the mentality especially among conservative minded people of “it’s newer so I hate it”
