That country up there is so beautiful... I've been visiting the Scenic Rim for fifty years and never tire of it. So glad that they've fixed the road up to The Head and Teviot Falls. The view from Carneys Creek Road looking back along the eastern escarpemnt of the Main Range is spectacular.

Good ride vid, mate. When I tried to ride Head Gate Road with my old man 5 years ago, it was sign posted as being shut for repairs and some fairly belligerent cow cockies reiterated the fact from horse back. Didn't want to force the friendship so kept on to Old Koreelah and eventually to the bike friendly pub in Urbenville. Might be time to give it another go.

The road is a bit rough but still OK. Give it a go when next you are out that way. Cheers Peter

Fantastic ride mate! I’ve lived in SE Qld for nearly 60 years and have never been up this way or realised how scenic it is. Don’t have an adventure bike but certain I could do this in my AWD SUV.

It would be very enjoyable on 4 wheels too. Enjoy.

One of my favorite rides. Well documented. A bit of family history in the graves at the swamp.

Love the video. I always feel that area is a little underappreciated.

I agree Chris, it is a beautiful section the Border Ranges... being found by more 4x4's unfortunately 😀

That area along the border is a little known but beautiful part of Australia. You were lucky to see it so green and lush.

We are very lucky to have it mostly to ourselves... let's hope it stays that way a while longer.😊

It has never looked better, hope you get a chance to explore it too.

Great vid, thank you! Such a shame when people smash up / vandalise OLD houses in the countryside. My Great Great Grandfather was one of the original settlers in South Australia, and built a stone house for his family. "What's left of it" still stands, I actually slept in it overnight a couple of times ~ 50 years ago, but we couldn't keep the kids with spraypaint out :( Ended up selling the last of the property ~ 18 months ago after being sacked from my career for not participating in the jibby jab experiment. Somehow I was putting the life of my manager in Victoria in danger by not having a clot shot, even though I only worked from home in Adelaide. Thinking of "retiring disgracefully" and buying my first ever motorbike, Honda XR150L might be the ticket?

Get the bike, and enjoy the freedom. Agree with you about trashing old buildings... why do it?
@coobyeАй бұрын
I refused to get jabbed too. Good on you for standing up for what you believe in👍. The graffiti annoys me as well. All the huts in the Vic High Country are vandalised with it.

Agree with you about the vandalism of historical buildings... truly sad to see. 😮 PS. Get the bike mate. You'll love it...! Ain't nothin' like the freedom of a ride to clear the mind n thrill the heart-soul. 😊

Great ride-out vid, thanks! Enjoyed the on-road commentary and background info. Damn shame that Australia, in general, is so blase about its history. That gatekeepers house should be maintained and kept as a historical landmark. Sure it's not as imposing as a European castle, but it's still part of the history of the place. Might want to tune the background music a bit quieter though.. personally found it a bit intrusive and ended up turning volume up/down between when you talked and when you had the music on. Gorgeous part of Australia - was roughly in that area last September, although kept mostly to the tarmac (XV1600's aren't really made for dirt lol)
