I don't have a specific "day kit", I just have one simple bag of everything I need, it only lacks a tent and sleeping bag I use for overnight camping, but I also always carry a tarpaulin for versatile use. I also know where my towel is - it's in my bag. :) I was out on a hike with a dodgy guy who gave me some strange drugs, and he took me down a pitch black tunnel. In the middle of it I began to freak out and get really hot. And I really wanted to go home, where I had my comforts. Then I remembered that very comfortably on my back was everything I ever need, even in the worst of situations I could find comfort and make anywhere my home. And everything was all right. :)
@ALoonwolf9 жыл бұрын
But in addition to my bag of supplies, I always carry in my pockets a few vitally important and useful items - so even if I lose my bag, everything is STILL all right.

I have a large military pack. I can cram so much stuff in it. But that's the problem it weighs a whopping 72 pounds.that's including food and water. I think I need to ditch my propane one burner stove and propane one mantle lantern.and if course the two bottles of propane. That would drop considerable weight. I m not sure though because this also doubles as my emergency kit. Maybe I invest in a short term pack like yours. Any ideas.

"I keep a haversack in my kit for obvious reasons." lol...for "obvious reasons"? Apparently, I must be the stupidest person watching this video, because it's not "obvious" to me why you would put a haversack in a backpack. I mean, you could say the same about a bowling ball - yes, it's obvious what a bowling ball is used for, but pulling it out of a backpack might suggest a bit more explanation. Otherwise, great video!
