Great video. Now I have to get my hands on the Osmo Pocket 3. That is a tricky thing to do right now!

Yeah I’ve heard some people are struggling to get hold of one. This is the only camera I’ve ever specifically recommended because it’s so good! I hope you manage to get one soon

I'm more of a still photographer-ish . A set of flashes is a must have for me.
@tristbrook4 ай бұрын
Oh interesting! Never seen anyone taking or using a flash when travelling. Do you do more portrait shots then?

Yay to the dji! Best camera ❤

I agree with a good bit of this

Good to know! I’m interested - what would you do differently?
@jmackultra3 ай бұрын
@@tristbrook the only thing I'd say I'd do differently is I do make use of my ND filters if I wanna shoot video with my big camera. You're right about them being a pain in the ass but I suffer through it. And while slightly less useful I'll still bring one of those little lights they've come in handy a time or two. Everything else is spot on.

@@jmackultra Your comment about suffering sums it up! What we are willing to suffer through dictates what we are willing to take. The release of Peter McKinnons new ND and Polariser in one filter might change my mind on filters

Pressing the "APS-C Camera" button really hard right now xD
@tristbrook3 ай бұрын
So many people overlook camera's with APS-C sensors but they are probably some of the best out there for lightweight, versatile and compact set ups for travel

It sounds like you want an omds em1 Mkii. Weather proof with the 12-40 mm f2.8 (24-80) lens. Best image stability. Not an attention grabber and on and on. Nice video

The drone was the biggest waste of money for me. I've only used it once in the past 4 years. I was in Puerto Rico and the only places I could use it was on a resort on the east side of the island and somewhere in the mountains (can't remember the exact spot). The app wouldn't let me fly it in San Juan. On the mainland, I can't even fly it around my house. I live too close to an airport. That happens if you live in a city.

I feel your pain. I made the mistake of buying the DJI FPV drone, took it on my trip to Scotland and left it in the car the entire time because it was just too much of a faff. Barely used the one I have to be honest

That's a lot of gear for my taste. I take a M4/3 a couple of lenses and a small super zoom 1inch sensor backup. But, I'm older and my back would not deal well with such a mass of gear.

Weight is definitely a big factor and very personal preference with how much we are each willing to carry. I’m always trying to reduce the weight but maximise quality and versatility

My equipment (very similar): Sony A7c II/20-70 f4.0; DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo, DJI Action 4 Adventure Combo, DJI mini 3 pro/RC&Fly more combo. Additionally i include Sony ECM-M1 and the PGYTECH Mantispod 2.0 (with RC included). And at last the Acer Spin 5 i7, Sandisk Extreme portable SSD 4TB and the PGYTECH Createmate for editing and storage. Thank you for the highly informative video; mabe you habe some recommendations für carrying cases/sling- or backbags? Greetings from germany.
@tristbrook4 ай бұрын
That's a great gear list! I should try out a small tripod like the Mantispod you mentioned. In the past I've use gorilla pods but they can become awkward to use/distract me from the experience. I have no specific recommendations for bags. I like to use normal looking backpacks with a camera cube inside for travel (maintains a low profile). Currently using the Tropicfeel Shell backpack. I did a review on it in the previous video if you're interested. For work I use a Lowepro AW350. Easier to pack a lot of equipment and keep it protected and it's cheap. Different situations call for different bags. As long as the camera gear is protected that's what really matters. Glad you found the video useful :)

What about an Insta360 x3 or newest x4?
@tristbrook3 ай бұрын
During filming I mentioned about buying one but cut it during editing as it didn’t feel right to comment on a camera I haven’t used or own. Planning to buy one though. The reviews look great and hoping it could be a replacement for the GoPro. Do you have an x3 or x4?
