I'm used to a much simpler sandwich. You have two slices of bread. You have two or three slices of tomato and bacon. You have one leaf of fresh crispy lettuce. You have sufficient mayo to slather over that sparse combo. Less is more! The result is a crispy crunchy delight!

I will try this tomorrow, but the tomato HAS to be touching the bacon. The flavors compliment each other and that is what makes this the best summer sandwich ever.

One thought, Beefsteak tomatoes have a lot of liquid that can make the sandwich watery and messy. Roma tomatoes have a lot less liquid and more 'meat' so they give more tomato flavor without as much drippy mess. Never saw onions or mustard on a BLT, that's different.
