The 1st book was 2007 not 2004 and based on the movie diary, he was born in 1998, and if you think it was 2004 you’re wrong. Because that he woulnt practically be in middle school, he would be in 1st grade, because that makes him 6, because 1998 to 2004 is 6 years old

Just because Greg was created in 1998 doesn't mean he was born that year. Greg himself even says that he's 12 (later 13). And this series is based on the 2004 Online Book that PREDATED the more well known 2007 published version, although the published version of the Online Book would really be the first five books.
