First time commenting on yr channel. I got fitted for the Taylormade Sim 2max Irons this past May... I am a BTK( Below the knee amputatee...) Got my first prosthetic keg in the middle of March of this year. I have hardly say rotation to swing properly. I tried the Cobras. Cobra Hybrids, Callaways, Wilson's, and the Titlests. Went with the senior graphite shafts. 5 iron to GW and 4 Hybrid and 3 wood..... Started the new golf season I Aprin here in Northern Michigan with my old set of Cobra F7s......Was not good.....I went from 10-12 handicap to 36. Shooting from the senoir tees. I ended the season with a handicap of 14. Love Taylormade fir what they have done for me..... Buy the way I am 56 yrs old. Thanks for yr Great vids M8.

Bought these last week on sale. My first round kept it on the fairway easily on the long holes. Hit 2/3 girs on the par 3s and hit 6 girs from 100+ out on the par 4/5s. Absolutely love these irons!

Can’t recommend these irons highly enough. Went for a fitting and hit a whole bunch and was surprised these were the ones I came away with. Am a 10 handicapper but what this guy says is true, forgiveness in them is so good and my irons (which were always my down point) now are much more consistent and straighter.

Same experience for me. During my fitting these Sim2 (both regular and OS) felt much better than anything else I tried, by far. I was surprised as I thought going into the fitting that I was going to end up with the Mavrik.

These irons are unreal I'm a 7hci and went from my srixon z585 to these and was blown away. The distance is about a club and I know they're loft jacked but the control and consistency is unreal for such a hot off the face club. I highly recommend these to anyone that doesn't have TX flex swing speeds and doesn't struggle with hitting the ball too high. These clubs cover about 99% of golfers it's insane Taylormade hit it outta the park with these bad mamajammas

When I came back to regular golf some 4-5 years ago I bought a set of Taylor Made M1s which I played for about 2.5 years so I should like TM products. IMO these are some of the best looking game improvement irons (I do not class the P790s as game improvement) that TM have made for a while. Sure the lofts are very strong and most players probably should have the 6i as their longest iron with the Sim and Sim OS but the performance and particularly the spin rate is pretty decent and better than the lofts should deliver. I only have 2 concerns: (a) manufacturer quality control which was pretty awful on my M1s - lofts and lies not close enough to spec but hopefully TM have since got on top of that and (b) as I found with the M1s these type of clubs are fairly one dimensional. They are meant to be easy to launch and deliver a high ball flight and that is what they do even when you try to manipulate them to try and get a lower more penetrating flight

i hit both on Monday for my fitting. head feels heavier on Mizuno. i hit them both the same for the most part. sim2 was a little more forgiving and longer but not by much distance wise. i picked up the sim2 iron set. for me they just felt like they belonged in my hand almost natural. but i dont think you could go wrong with either.

Hi I love your reviews. I have a concern when it comes to testing only 1 or 2 irons in the set. Gapping between irons is very important. I looked at a test of some Ping irons and the tester said that the gaps were all over the place. Even as a high handicap golfer distance control is critical. My current 25 year old irons are 11yards between each. Very good for choosing the right club. Perhaps this should be considered. Thanks for your help.

@@EpicxSnipezify I went with sim max 4 - a wedge set. Custom kbs graphite shafts regular flex. Calloway chrome soft balls. They play fantastic. I also have a sim 2 max driver. Fujikura red ventus stiff shaft. TM red spider tour putter.

Just bought a demo set of these and I have to say that they look really good. Tomorrow I will take them on the course with me.That done and nothing to add just that I would never have considered such strongly lofted irons but these do seem to work. I would describe them as clickly though. The player though could get better 😂

What kinda shaft did you try! The Sim 2 Max ,irons sell mostly 5 - Pw, so you need to get a hybrid, Sim 2 Max , shaft lengths are longer, than average, is that a concern for the average golfer. Great video. Thank you.

Great video again I'm a bit confused they look great clubs and they looked great when you hit them , from classic lofts there very strong lofted but they don't seem to have gained massive distance on the old lofts. If the new clubs of the 7 iron was the length of a 5 iron if equivalent what distance would they achieve then .

Perhaps the Taylor brand doesn’t appeal to Americans, because we have enjoyed iconic American long standing brands like ping, Calloway titleist.... maybe Europeans enjoy the international brands like pxg, Taylor and mizuno. Perhaps that is in the back of our minds. I guess I have never been into Taylor. However, I did purchase macgregor last comeback attempt. I think it would have been successful if they didn’t back Greg Norman at the time.

The standard Sim2 Iron looks much better than it's predecessor, I wasn't a fan of the bridging bar on the original SIM and it now looks much less like a GI Iron👍

Coming back here to ask a question about these irons. Who should not use the SIM 2 MAX vs. SIM 2 MAX OS iron? Reason for asking is that I am very interested in these irons, @21 HCP, and was fitted for the earlier SIM but as I need a bit longer shaft it was not possible to order them from TM as they were out of stock waiting for the SIM 2's. I am confused if I should go MAX or MAX OS.II never tested the SIM OS.

I think that going to a store to try them out, if at all possible to you, will be the best feedback you can get on this. I was leaning towards the Mavrik, having had a good experience trying out the Rogue a couple of years ago. However, when I tried various models at the store, including the Sim2 (incl. OS), Mavrik (incl. Max) and Big Bertha, I was surprised to find out that the Sim 2 (both reg and OS) worked best for me over the Callaways. The Sim2 (especially the OS) felt a lot better to me than the Mavrik. The numbers on the simulator validated what I felt. So my advice is try both out if you can and chose what works best for your style.

I think these irons will go down well, though some of us golfers have egos, and wouldn't want to be seen with 'game improvement' irons in the bag. Great review once again..

Nice review. TM SIM 2 MAX OS #4 iron is very interesting. Its loft is 18 degree. It is a very good alternative for hybrid replacement. I'm looking forward whether you will do comparison test on TM SIM2 MAX OS especially its #4 iron against other competitors which have same loft (18 degree), such as Callaway MAVRIK #4 iron, and Wilson D9 #4 iron.

Hit the MaxOS pretty well. My handicap is 12-14, but I’ve also had back surgery that has taken a tad of my mobility, but still fairly athletic. Would you say the MaxOS are smart for that extra oomph and edge, or should I go with the standard SIM2 Max? Currently hitting M2’s.

I have th Max OS and I live with handicaps for the past 12 years. We seem to be pretty much the same type of player. Lack of consistence which explains your handicap but I would say I love the irons even though I am waiting for the P790 2021... If I were you I would give them a try! They are worth it! There is only one reason irons are “longer”. It’s because they change the traditional loft. For instance an 7 iron is lofted more like 6 iron or in between a traditional 7 and 6 iron. Its a marketing trick and nothing else. They have to trick you into buy new clubs at thousand $ when yours are fine and what you need is practice and /or a lesson or two.

I cant answer that but it does surprise me? they seem to be same material as many other irons?

They will scuff because their not chrome plated, their polished stainless steel. Any metal that’s just polished will scuff up. Chrome plating is just that, it’s a plating put over the raw steel to keep it from rusting and it very hard. So if you want irons that won’t scuff you’re going to have to buy something plated with chrome. Not many companies are plating iron now, unless they are forged, which is 1025 carbon steel, chrome plate is expensive also.
