In this series I am going to do very short, concise videos on a very specific topic to hopefully help people get the most from their Helix/HX Stomp and dial in great tones. So I've been in the habit of adding a gain block at the end of the chain and adding a few DB that way. I like seeing that block lit/unlit when I am tweaking snapshots. When you do it Jason's way, you need to click on the output block and remember what the baseline is (in this case -1.5) to know if it is boosted. Using an added gain block also lets me adjust the overall output of the signal using the output block. I dont know if this is good or bad workflow, but it seems to work for me.

I do the same thing. So my heavy lead snapshot is boosted by default, but also gives me flexibility to boost a lower gain snapshot if desired. I play a wide range of rock in multiple cover bands so it’s very useful to run it this way.

I use a +3dB boost at the end of the chain like this. The issue I find when boosting isn’t in the boost but coming out of it. I always have a “where did it all go????” moment 😂 Great tip and video, Jason!

Agree with many excellent posters here and Jason as well. I often use a Gain block at the end of the chain or a final Comp block at the end of the chain just as Jason often uses. If I want more of something then I can adjust the appropriate paramter in the block that I want more of and adjust the end gain or compressor level as part of the ssnapshot. I may use the final output block to adjust the overall volume for that preset at stage time at the venue. But to really cut through the mix, I may need to do something else. But that requires a parrrallel path and is another story. Great content Jason. Also, thanks for keeping ti short! I love bite sized content.

Well, that is Exactly how I do it. It’s not ‘cuz I am smart - it’s ‘cuz I learned it from you! Haha Thank you kind Sire!

Yeah, I think that's the way to do it, as it doesn't mess with any of the previous Blocks, is easy to change, and doesn't require an extra Block.

Great tip, didn't know output could be changed per snapshot. I use an OD for solo as well as a simple EQ at end of chain with a small db increase. I can do away with that EQ block now.

This is how I boost my leads. One question I have is why the -1.5db on everything? Why not a +2.5db for the lead snapshot and done?

所以在solo的时候2.5db的音量提升是合理的对吗
