Starting a small town out there actually makes a lot of sense. Often, commercial/office hubs pop up around major highway interchanges (e.g., right by an airport) because the traffic is very good. They often contain hotels and lodging for businesspeople, but sometimes they develop into towns with full residential and services. That would also help fill up jobs around what I call the AIS (Airport Industrial Space)

Btw from the notes for the latest patch: Fixed: International Aiport roads are not inverted with left-hand traffic. Maybe just re-plop it or smth in the next episode, to fix your traffic connections?

All the new industries need people. Please add another metro depot and stations out in that area so your citizens can get to that area. Where are all the employees going to eat? How about some low density commercial?

the intersection at 13:50 for the giant airport could be done like a highway split then have them crossover so that they dont have to drive on the same road and get in everyones way, just make a "Y" where one side goes up and the other goes under to fully remove the chance of an issue

Hello Biffa and thank you for the video. A small note though: Shouldn't we reverse the paper factory and the refinery to get closer to the reproduction sites? I think so. We also need hotels near the airport and bars and restaurants where people work. 😏😉 And one day, a big national park near a castle, it would be great. Have a good day at work!! 😆😁

Bit of a Jon Snow (I know nothing) question: Wouldn't it make more sense to set up the larger police and fire buildings in a more central location, where they could respond more easily to issues in the whole city? Then you could have some of the smaller buildings like fire houses on the more remote locations (such as the airport), to extend rapid coverage. (I don't know if it works like that, but thought I'd ask)

I live in Germany right next to an Army base. You get used to Apache and Chinook flying over eventually. I dont think any residents would be too bothered living near the airport!

There is an airport smack dab in the center of Las Vegas and its so overpopulated they have a sewer system full of homeless so I highly doubt people really care about being near airports lol. It does cause tons of traffic though! I used to live right down the road on Maryland Pkwy and had to use the connector to the highway loads of times. Always a fun time driving lol

I lived 2 miles from the end of the runway along the landing path at Heathrow, and I wasn't even the closest. You do *kind of* get used to it.. except for a certain plane, which I can confirm was louder than bands playing in the local pub, as was observed when the singer asked at the end of a song "What was that?" and everyone in the pub replied together "Concorde!" 😆

Biffa, delete the airport roundabout, its too small anyway, use slip roads to split the 6 way road into two separate 3 lane highway roads and then place one over the top or under the other to access the airport. Your access to the cargo areas on the airport can be a roundabout and I would do the same on both sides - one road in/out of both areas to connect to the airport one way road at a roundabout. You can then link both roundabouts with a two way service road which will allow you to build hotels, commercial areas and some limited industry areas.

You should set up a cargo train connection near your airport area for all your industrial zones as well as for the cargo from the freight section of the airport.

The only problem with customizing the turning lanes is you have to do it for all the lanes in the intersection, otherwise it reverts to default/all ways! Currently that highway you said "no straight traffic" on the off-ramp reverted back to all directions the moment you customized the other lanes. 😂

For the cargo routes of the airport you can link them directly to the roundabout next to the highway on top That will be better than passing through the airport routes where passengers go through Love your work

You may want to implement parking and bus routes by all of that newly placed industry it can be more accessible for the city and more incentive for them to drive and you could make the parking free since they're using it for their job :D and could make the bus there free too *shrugs* may help those poor and uneducated get to jobs more efficiently :) just a suggestion ! love your series !

I think It would be helpful to put the bus stop at your leisure jobsites (Refinery, Car Plant, Airport) to help make sure people can't get to jobs can maybe alleviate some traffic so there are the problems of the future.

It's really not that hard to get a huge surplus in the first game either. All you have to do is get your city running smoothly while making a decent profit and then go make something to eat, when you come back you'll have lots of money.

considering that in real life very few cities have several plots of varying types of farmland, several specialized manufacturing plants, generic industrial sites and specialized industrial sites all together. To be more realistic the game should both prevent you from making such a city and include the natural economic ev and flow of a country's economy, but that's also not what the game was designed for.

I keep trying to play this game. I really loved the first one. But I can't get pipes to connect to things and can't get roads to connect to the "right" place on buildings to actually get them working. Invariably I end up trying for half an hour to get one thing connected up and get frustrated and bail. Hoping the next patch makes this a bit more functional. Even the patch the other day didn't fix it.

Regards the Airport roads, it seems they dont flip them to the proper side when you have left hand drive. Same with car parks although thats not as big of an issue. I do love that you have the city driving on the correct side of the road though :)

Why do you have your train line going over the road, then underneath the highway to then go up again over the arterial road? Just have it raised so it's more realistic. And then also please make bigger curves for the train lines right after that where it meets the other rail line

Honestly if this were real life I'd be terrified flying into that airport. Roads directly parallel to the runways, immediately before the touchdown zone just water and industry buildings with high chimneys just behind the runway. All it takes is one wind shear or an unfocused captain trying to land instead of doing a go around to end in disaster. Or in case of really bad weather and without proper ILS approach those parallel roads could be mistaken for a runway if e.g. there's sever weather like thick fog. Ok, I think I might be watching too much of Mentour Pilot and I know the game mechanics in CS don't work like that, but I am saying that this doesn't make for a very realistic airport.

Hmm somethings really wrong with the storage numbers from the airport at 39:30 … it says ‘800 tons’, but the details show much more then the 800 tons.. or am i missing something 😅
