I think i would have just bought some micro sized plastic or used a cheaper bait to cut down. lol. Damn, some of us don't have a whole warehouse full of them.

If it’s winter I’m going to thread it to make it more compact. I’d probably also trim up those claws just to make it a little smaller. Cool idea though.

What I do Is. I’ll rip off the skirt. Toss it to the side for later use. I’ll grab me one them Z-Man TRD-BugZ and Super glue the TRD threaded onto the jig and add the Weed guard glue that also. And until you get hung that jig should last More them Fifty Fish🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Now we're talking my skillz!!!!! Baby D Bomb is a badass trailer!!!! Can't say anything bad about it. Now when it comes to " micro" jigs,.....oh man do I have the best Missle Baits product for a serious micro Finesse Maniac. I use a Keitech mono spin jig in a bluegill color resembles smoke grey. This is my personal choice.... I prefer the Missle Baits Drop Craw in fishalicious color. This combination is deadly. I take off about an inch of it and thread it on the hook. I prefer to thread my jigs 80% of the time. I can get the slightest subtle shake and draw a fish quick with this method. Baby D Bombs are one of my favorites. Hillbilly Magic is my favorite color & I can flat out slay them with it Texas rigged with a 1/8oz tungsten weight and bobberstop. It's a little more on the finesse side but I excel in that technique. Micro jigs are definitely a serious hawg catcher. Not advisable for the faint of heart.

For me Water Temps would help me Select the way I would RIG the trailer.. In cold water high 30's low 40's for ME A more Compact less action Profile...As the water heats up I would hang it for more Action That's how I would do it #wildbill

I cut it just like you showed in the video and used both threaded and hung trailer and we SLAYED the bass all afternoon in 45 degree, clear, 5 foot deep water. Thanks for tip!!

I personally do almost the same thing for my flipping jigs with the full size d bomb. They have a profile that is almost identical to a chunk. the thinness of the legs seems to give a little more action with less effort when compared to a chunk.
