I’ve learned a lot and practice accordingly. I’m very appreciate as Patrick sharing his invaluable coaching online. Thank you Patrick 😊

Wow thank you so much! I'm an over 50 adult, so I can't hit like that, but I learned so much from this lesson... Moving into the forehand, having the racket prepared early, racket only forward after the bounce, weight moving into the shot... I have a one-handed backhand, but I'm sure the same thing applies, plant that lead foot first and then come forward... I was taking the racket back early from what I had already learned, but the rest of it I wasn't doing... Going to look at your one-handed explanation now, the one with Tsitsipas beside you for the opening image.

I see exactly what he is doing wrong at 9:36 simply bc my daughter has the same issues with the slow(er) take back just like this kid here. Additionally, we are also dealing with the over rotation and pulling to the left and generally, being out of balance a bit. Watched the progression of this 13 year old and it looks incredible! Thanks for sharing!!!

Great lesson! I’ve learned so much from you! There is such a temptation to use the backswing and footwork as part of timing the ball, so they all happen at the same time, instead of being completely prepared when the ball bounces, to allow the hitting motion to be a simple, powerful uncoiling, everything moving forward together.

excelent progress, though did not understand the part with the right leg that has to move forward as at the end of the forehand section, he is asked to keep the legs on the ground. Does that mean the bringing leg forward on forehand is only an intermediate step to learn the weight trasfer?
@absolutelynothingtoseehere Жыл бұрын
Yes, I thought that was confusing. In many other videos, he stresses bringing the right leg forward. What might be going on here is that he wanted this guy to focus initially on stability and moving the right leg forward was a distraction.

okay, one questions. At the beginning Patrick taught stepping through the forehand. Later he has the boy run a drill where he uses only the shoulder to follow through, but legs are still. I am wondering whether the first is for attacking shots only and the second for rally?

Hey Patrick, when the ball bounces the racket shouldn't go back you say but the racket drops as well, right? And the drop is sort of backwards as well, no? So maybe when the ball bounces your racket can only start dropping with no more 'dropless' take back is a better checkpoint. What do you think?

Hi, Patrick. I didn’t understand anything that you wanted to convey to this guy. (Forehand - you’re trying to put the guy in a closed stance so that after each blow there is a step with his right foot. For what purpose are you doing this? Is this Modern tennis? Then you want to lengthen your forehand swing! Maybe he has been training on a fast court for 10 years, hence this technique? Question: what did you work on with the guy, what did you correct?

Look at his videos about dominant left eye and right eye; like someone would have time to select/adjust his shot based on that. Complete BS but sounds smart. The main thing: who is his product, whom he helped to improved ranking let's from 100 to 10? Nobody.
@LoveTennis-AllCourts Жыл бұрын
@@arso3335 Rune joined the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France in January 2022, when the Dane was No. 104 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings. And also, "like someone would have time to select/adjust his shot based on that" - so your understanding is that you change your shot on the fly on not in practice? Unless you are hitting all open stance, your eye dominance will have an effect, in this game of slender margins at the higher level. I don't contest the fact that he is a master salesman but please don't discount everything.

Isn't this training the young man to short-hop everything? I ask because, if the racket should lag behind in the kinetic chain before being whipped forward, then when does he get to let go of the racket with the left hand to allow the racket to drop down and then be whipped forward?

I'm not buying some of this... A good transition in any sport has a portion of the backswing included in the forward swing. It's NOT forward only. Also, it's kind of crazy to say the full backswing should be done when the ball bounces, because the bounce might be short or the bounce might be deep. The ball could be slow or the ball could be fast. You should TIME the backswing just like you time the forward swing, based on the depth and speed of the incoming ball.
@TheTennisDaddy9 ай бұрын
Came here to say this…it does look like this kid is trying to hit everything on the rise but even still, the forward swing includes the racquet moving down first otherwise you’ve lost all your momentum..I find a lot of Pats videos he exaggerates things he says to get a certain result and we can misinterpret because we don’t see the entire session…it’s either that or he actually doesn’t know what he’s talking about😅but he’s laughing all the way to the bank regardless 😂😂
