You guys, I have to say that your videos really are helpful and encouraging. I am not sure just how much you realize that but it is certainly true from my perspective. Hey btw-on a bit of a side note...a number of vids ago was your Italy vs Portugal. Well I follow some Italian real estate folks on You Tube also and saw one today in which I thought AHHHHH Leslie! The outdoor space! (not so much exactly otherwise though-at least in my opinion) - but I will share it just because (if for no other reason): It was titled, INCREDIBLE Italian townhouse with a garden and incredible views close to the coast and ski resorts. "A home in Italy" (You Tube channel) Gosh I always thought a nice smaller less expensive place in Italy and with luck a bit nicer one in Portugal! HA! Skeemer Dreamer here. But thanks Wolf for another inspiring video today. Very well done. (I have to get back over to the Moving Abroad site at some point - glad I signed up, at least I have it available as I am 100% sure it will be needed)

Very encouraging. My spouse and I are 55 and dread putting this dream off another second. However, we are caregivers of our aging parents. Are there properties with "mother-in-law" quarters or duplex type properties? My parents live with us now but in their own separate quarters on the property. So we have already downsized them and have adjusted to living together. Now I just have to talk them into leaving the country!

Olá! There are plenty of properties that have different levels for multi generational living however they are not like we think of in the USA. No duplex or morlther in laws suite. That is the levada!!!! The are 1000's levada kilometers you can walk on the island. They were built 100's of years ago and are still used today in order to bring water from the wetter North side to the dryer south side.
