I opened my pom pom maker - thought this can't be difficult... instructions on the packaging were useless, as was the first tutorial I found which whizzed through so quickly I gave up after four attempts at watching it. I love making these so much! I use strong waxed cotton cord to tie mine and find I'm able to tie my pom poms much tighter than with the yarn. The waxed cord grips on to the yarn better and also allows for a tighter knot!

Oh this is a dream compared to without the maker. My SIL passed away and we found these in some of her crafting things. I was so intimidated to use them- they looked so complicated and I thought surely they were missing something but you just helped me breeze right through making one. I used to despise making Pom poms. This is so nice.

How do you prevent the small strands of yarn from falling out of the pom pom once you've made them with the pom pom maker?

I don’t think so, I think it would come apart. I would recommend attaching it with a button and loop if you want it to be removable for washing 🥰

I would just say the sharpest pair you have! I use fabric shears for mine and normal embroidery scissors for my tiny Poms 🌸
