The Perfect Rainy Day in New Hanoi 🇻🇳 Banh Mi Banh Cuon and Local Specialty Coffee!

Today we are putting our Saigon tour on hold for a couple of days as I've had a paid opportunity to head to the capital Hanoi to check out the new part of Hanoi, at the Vinhomes Ocean Park.
I wasn't expecting to like the place as I thought it might lack character but there is so much authentic northern Vietnamese restaurants here that it's mind blowing.
Today I got to make a speciality coffee in a coffee shop for the first time and of course, I had to grab a Bánh mì, my first on this trip! We finished off with something I never miss in Hanoi, Bánh cuốn.

I think for those staying there for an extended time, Ocean City or New Hanoi is fine. Maybe it'll work for digital nomads more so than for those traveling in and out again as tourists. Until those homes and shops fill up and there are more people about, it just won't have the same vibe as the hustle and bustle of Old Quarter. Yes, Hanoi is noisy and busy, but it's a sign people are living and doing. There's an energy about it that people enjoy.

Always love Vietnamese food, it's very underrated. I love the coffee shops of Sth EAsia, they put so much effort into one simple cup of coffee and never fail to impress, the standard is so high.

That banh cuon looks like it was all mushrooms and no meat. And it was also missing the cinnamon sausage that typically is served with banh cuon up north. Might want to move the dipping bowl closer to you so you don't drip. :)

Ocean park 3 is recently open, now it is just a site for tourism I have a flat in Ocean park 1 but almost the first year after the opening there are few people come to live there, but now it is crowded
