I’ve made several of your burgers. Some exactly as you did and some similar to your burgers. Mostly I watch your videos for inspiration and technique. I do the same thing with How To BBQ Right, All Things BBQ, T-Roy Cooks, etc. One thing I appreciate about your channel is you do what you want and don’t worry about what others think. It’s appreciated especially in today’s world.

Greg, I've never thought your burgers to be excessive. Matter of fact they're very easy going and what you add with all these other ingredients is a twist or unique flavor. You invite us to open up out pallet to something other than just meat squeezed between two buns. You let us know there's more to cooking than just what we know. Great content as always.

Greg, I rarely read the comments to your videos, but for what it's worth I *get* what you're doing. I make burgers often myself (it seems to have become my thing) and while I rarely make them as elaborate as yours sometimes are, I definitely make mine "more than just ordinary". I always tell my guests "Burgers are not rocket-science - anyone can make them ... it doesn't take much", but I enjoy making something that is a bit more "special" than "just a burger" ... and your channel has provided me with lots of inspiration over the years. Keep up the good work, buddy.

I think going "over the top" is always good because you basically get to show all the options in one go. It's then up to the individual to add/remove/replace that as they see fit. In all my time of cooking for the family, there are only two recipes that I ever followed to the letter - one was Jack Oven's Creamy Mustard Chicken, and the other some copycat recipe of Wagamama's Kare Lomen. All the rest have been versions with whatever I had available at the time.

You should do a Swiss and mushroom burger.Sauté shiitake mushrooms in butter when the butter is reduced,and mushroom are almost done.Add a splash of Worcestershire,put to the side.Saute onions with butter put to side.cook bacon put to the side.Cook burger put mushrooms,bacon,onions and avocado on top the burger THEN put the cheese on (Swiss)but you can use any cheese really.Def toast the bun,I use potatoe bread,or butter bread buns.Ive been a cook for 18 years,and this burger has always been my favorite.

Awesome video and burger grilling technique, Greg! This burger was not over the top, in my opinion. It was very straight-forward and practical. One question, if you did want to cook burgers indirect to get some wood smoke on them first before the sear, would you recommend resting them first and blot them dry with a paper towel before the sear, just like we do with steaks? Or do you think this method in the video would still work fine and I could add a couple chunks of wood to the coals before I start cooking the burgers? Thanks for instructions and I love my new SnS Kettle. grill!

I bought an individual ring, but maybe a little smaller. It has a vertical "handle" to pull it off the heat (I think it was intended for eggs.) I usually use the back of my hand with a rocking motion to pack the beef into the ring. Yeah, I wouldn't like the thumb print either. Great video, Greg!!!
@BallisticBBQ4 жыл бұрын
I have a couple of those egg rings as well. They work good, but the set that I buy has a variety of sizes. At least 3 rings, I don't even use but the larger two in the set are a perfect match for the buns I like. Cheers Ray!
