When it comes to trucks you get what you pay for. I always go with American made when it comes to trucks and I hate to say it but the Maverick is made in Mexico.

@@BarryObaminable 4 hybrids currently at my local dealer. 2 xlt and 2 lariats. all at msrp. Guess it depends on where you live.

@@rustynail7866 There are two at mine local. one is mine the other i dont know if its hybrid or not. Mine sitting there for 6 months because of recall hybrids have shown up before when i was looking for mine to arrive. but they always disappeared the next day i assume from special order

It’s not a Tucson it’s actually a Santa Cruz powertrain and suspension. The back is beefed up with heavier, suspension for hauling weight and towing.

ford is the answer. the money for the other goes to another country. even if its assembled else ware the money stays here. for foreign vehicles even if its built here the real money goes to the country of origin. this is why I only buy Detroit steel.

Different strokes for different folks. I think the Hyundai is bold and different. The Maverick looks like every other ford truck, same with the Tacoma and every other Tacoma. They all look the same.

Maverick is Escape in drag. Both are CUV based and neither are real trucks. I had Maverick first, now have the Cruz so familiar with both.

What made you switch to the Santa Cruz?

@@AutoInari Carvana offered 6k over what I paid for XLT hybrid and I was WFH since the lock down. Since I don't commute MPG was not that important, and Cruz is the better of the two for me for comfort and handling. And the hybrid quirkiness was something I didn't want to put up with for MPG gain.
