Stumbled across your channel and you brought back memories when in the 80s early 90s I would spent alot of time fishing the upper duc and Hoh in March and April . Many memories it was a nice place to cleanse the soul for sure. Being in E. Wa now love to fish Walleye anyway Thanks you are a ambassador to the ecosystem. Tight lines, Peace to you

I have a few Sockeye salmon in the freezer. Well, I just took them out to smoke. A great way to start the new year.

Do you/have you cold smoked salmon to make lox? If you have just curious how it worked. I’m going to miss my salmon fishing, moved from Vancouver, WA to South Dakota for my job 😞

I follow this recipe very closely (some tweaks) and it always is a homerun during the Holiday's. Right off the smoker - like fresh baked cookies!

How long are you smoking the salmon for? New to smoking and afraid of drying it out. Yours looks amazing! Thx!

2 hours at 160 and 1 hour at 140 It's different for every batch, smaller fish = less time in smoker. They are done when they look similar to the one in the thumbnail photo.

I now dry my brined fish inside the smoker with the door latched. 15 pieces of brined fish turned into 7 pieces thanks to a determined yellow lab who's way to short to reach them.
