Does the discard need to be tossed out? Can it be used to start another starter?

Hi Elaine, the discard can be used for a multiple methods of cooking. I’ve used it to make sourdough pancakes. Maybe even add it to other batter to make fried fish. Some folk actually make sourdough crackers. I also use it to make other starters for my friends. I hope this answers your question. Have a great day.

Hi Colin, thanks for the video. For maintenance, we never have to feed it whole wheat or rye flour again? Do we only feed it white flour forever onwards?

It’s such a pleasure. My recommendation for the maintenance stage is to only feed it with All Purpose flour or bread flour onwards. I hope this helps 😊
