This was a great video dude, so good that I wished it was longer. The production value is better than even most of the top D2 content creators. The video was commentary was clear, concise , and as humorous as it was informative. The andariel comment at the beginning of the video had me saying “alright, I like this guy already!” LOL. Maybe i should’ve tried that huh🤔 The main thing that kept me from it was just the amount of damage reg monsters did to me while leaping; facing uber mephy with that… plus the attack speed i doubted would be good enough for life tap sustain. Still, we won’t know till we know

I play Barb using only passive skills and gear. i Beat in all 3 difficult without casting single spell. I didnt even use Cloack of Shadows from my Nadir helmet. its not about magic damage...its about sending the message.

I love early ladder, the game is so active, trades left right and center, people looking for everything, and drops are actually worth something. Its not like later in the ladder when you offer a maras 29 and in 15 minutes 2 guys have entered and offered an ist, and all you ask for is 2. All the real trading later is really just runewords and runes, but usually by then i have so much i just give a lot of it away to struggling players. I made a few griefs, some ctas and when they rolled badly i just gave them away, didnt even sell them. I mean you can get an ohm or at least a vex+gul for a very low rolled grief but why even bother by then. I did make a really fun and stupid mistake, i was just playing around and an ohm dropped, so i just built a CTA, 3-3-3 so i sold it cheaply and the guy who bought it was like "you sure you only want a vex and 2 ist for it?" and i just said yeah. Didnt think any more of it until i met the guy in another trading world, and he was like "look this guy gave me this cta for a vex and 2 ist" and i was not really thinking about it, he showed me the CTA said thanks again, we discussed some items that we were looking for and he was interested in high rolled ravens and i had some just laying around, so i swapped character and jumped into the game again. Showed him a good raven and he just said "look i will give you a vex for it because you were so kind to me earlier." then he showed the CTA again, it was 6-6-3, i made it on a fucking barb and didnt think about it at all. This was back in LOD i dont know if they changed how barbs can see the skills on CTA in the newer version. I made other mistakes too, like making a mule game and i was just killing stuff to make sure the game wouldnt vanish. Killed stuff for around 10 min just to perm the game, dropped the stuff on the ground and then save and exit. Then when i were logging in again, "wait i dont have a clue what i named the game anymore" so those items were lost. a high rolled steelrend, 2 off perfect gheeds, 2 sojs, a few skillers, some good rolled jewels and small charms. Other mistakes i've made, it was early ladder and i traded and tfound a ber, (was playing a sorc, not relevant to the story really) and i was just jumping between trade games and my character was pretty weak, i wanted to split the ber into smaller runes so i just had it in my inventory, the rest of it was filled with random charms, and a 2x4 slot so i could pick everything up id it at least. Found an eth pike, so that filled up the 2x4 slot, then later on i found a small charm, 20 life so i saved that one for sure, and completely forgot i dropped the ber.

Because you just beat yourself up with it over and over again lol. What i did a lot in the last few ladders i played was organizing treasure hunts, for other players, i payed for it with my own stuff. Enigma AP treasure hunt for example, it was done on normal, highest level character allowed was 29, so people joined i showed them the enigma i was giving away, and the treasure hunt could be, an eth superior x. Something rare at least. Or a rare axe with over 40psn dmg, i dont remember exactly, i had a whole list on the computer of rare mods that could spawn on rare items in normal. Those were actually a lot of fun. people loved them too, they were tricky to setup online in the game though. You had to spam it in chat, with all the rules, when it would happen and what the prize was of course to make people want to do it. Also high runes and expensive uniques like griffons, coa, tyraels. Just stuff i bought in the game to give away later. Complete sets, but only really 3, griswolds, tals and ik. I also made other treasure hunts, find me for a hr, and then i just hid in the game and waited for a person to find me, when they did i gave them the HR they wanted. I have literally played the shit out of D2, i was never one to rush for lvl 99 or anything like that, i enjoyed trading and mfing. I had an overgeared light sorc and frenzy barb, that i liked to join dia/baal runs with, they went to kill dia and baal, i went to the cow level or travi. I've made a staff barb with an eth botd archon staff. just for fun. A lot of people wondered what my weapon was and i gladly showed them and they mostly laughed. For me D2 is all about trading and mfing and of course having fun. I tried a challange to kill ubers with every mercenary, never quiet manage it with an act 1 merc though. But its sort of expensive trying out stuff, with gear that is worthless later. I spent an obscene amount of hours trying to find a bow or crossbow that i could turn into a steel golem, because lvl 12-15 fana is a lot better then lvl 9 from beast. I was bummed that bows and crossbows couldnt be eth as well.

Don't worry, Runes aren't affected by Magic Find anyway and Grief is best in slot for smiters and barbs, there's a reason it's banned in "GM" melee duels

you are correct, and i wasn't really blaming the mf on the lack of runes. what i was really going on about was find item which gives a 50% chance (at the level that i had it at) to give a second drop; basically making it so i did double the runs and if you look at it from that context; one vex from 600 runs is a little unlucky

Melee gets destroyed by the trinity of low damage, attack rating, and durability. Add in the fact that you per we have to tank dmg, which is worst at low levels and bad gear
