This is such a wonderful product! I'm very excited to get my hands on one, then try to wrap my head around the whole coding bit. I don't have any experience in coding or soldering or any of the engineering side, only a passion to design music products; and with this I can actually have a working instrument of my own creation relatively easily. So, thank you for making such an approachable platform for me and others to dive into this kind of work without the need for intensive prior knowledge of the subject nor the means to produce a physical working instrument on their own. I'm really looking forward to what this leads to

I want to make a general midi module so bad. Just with all the dry tones but I made them.

This is a wonderful HW DIY platform! Great work !!! Are there any libraries planned? Or (on the Teensy) just use the Teensy Audio Lib?

Thanks! Teensy audio library is a fantastic start. We'll develop more tools as we need. Join us on Discord?

It would be awesome if you guys could teach how to use bits of the open source Mutable Instruments code for these projects :)
@SynthuxAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Indeed. It's on the more advanced side of the courses, but yea! Definitely interesting to build a chapter on.

does this require soldering? I'm assuming it does, but it looks like it potentially doesn't if it doesn't require soldering, this would be a HUGE selling point for prototyping
@SynthuxAcademy Жыл бұрын
You can play with it without soldering, yes. But when you solder you make it as solid as your other instruments :) so it's worth learning. It's also a lot of fun. Kinda like Lego for adults with a super nice reward in the end - it's your own instrument!

@@SynthuxAcademy ok, that is great, I think that is a HUGE selling point and I would imagine some people would assume it acts more like a perfboard than a breadboard (especially with the soldering iron on screen) but yeah, this is SUPER cool since it is basically a specialized and simplified breadboard for layout design (and I don't say this to diminish the product)

Thanks! Yea, that's the idea behind it. A custom board for designing electronic instruments. There are already some crazy projects people made with it. Gets me inspired every time!

The Button for pre-ordering the brainless version on your website does not work for me currently. The other Versions work fine though.

Is it possible to order only the PCBs? I don't need knobs, pots, jacks, or switches.

Thanks for the interest. At the moment it is not possible, sorry.

Maybe a stupid question .. but does this platform require connectivity to a pc or Mac? Or can it operate as a standalone machine that can, say, integrate with Eurorack?
@SynthuxAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's standalone. The microcontroller is programmable through the computer, but then you can disconnect it and add power through battery, or a eurorack power circuit.
