I used to be a huge Hallberg-Rassy fanboy, but that's over since the new design language and the double rudders with twin steering wheels. Nowadays Sirius is on top of my yachting bookmark. In my humble opinion they are the best you can buy on the yacht market. Also a big fan of the Luffe 3.6 and Faurby 37.

@@davidhuysmans67 I’m sure the twin rudders work very well, but to me HR were always about ruggedness and go anywhere boats. The twin exposed rudders seem extremely vulnerable and I wouldn’t feel happy crossing oceans with them.

A spade rudder is particularly at risk in the event of collisions with flotsam or whales, grounding or orca nibbles, etc. The consequences vary in severity, ranging from loss of steering with the rudder to the yacht sinking due to a leak in the rudder suspension in the underwater hull. Closed rudder compartments could prevent sinking, but are not a construction requirement and are almost never installed. A double rudder provides a certain amount of redundancy, but the rudders are at least as exposed as a spade rudder. A full skeg or half skeg protects the rudder more or less well from collision damage, but certainly better than a spade rudder from leaks. A long keel with the rudder suspended from the keel is best protected against rudder damage.

Why is there NO one in the world, KZbin, sailing a Sirius? Like: Sailing Ran, SV Delos and so on, aso? Are Sirius just a toy, a day trip boat? I mean, it looks fantastic, im sure its safe with that lovely solid railing, and of course sails great.. Why havent i seen people use the boat?

There are actually a couple of blogs about sailing on a Sirius. Because we are based and started out building boats in Germany, many of them are german speaking. Except it's way out of most of their price ranges and much to small to be a longtime liveaboard. Start building a 45 and lower your price, you might attract more liveaboards

Sirius are great boats. A DS40 is on my wish list for when I will be rich. I will not even discuss the asking price for a second hand 35FT (others have mentioned it already). I will say however this: will all due respect, having two small round stools without a proper backrest and lombar support does NOT make this setup an "office workstation". As someone that has to spend many hours in an office, I would not consider these chairs as proper "office workstations", not even remotely. Good luck with the sale.

This boat is not built for full 9-to-6-workingdays, but to be able to retreat for a few hours every day. It is true that the stool in the midship cabin is not an ideal seat. The fold-out chair in the forepeak, on the other hand, is designed for long-term work and has a comfortable backrest.

@@SiriusYachts to be clear, I think the boat is great and it has so many good qualities. I just think the two "workstations" are not among the great features of the boat and if I would have to work on the boat I would just use the saloon seating and big table for my laptop. I am sure that those couches are so much more comfortable:) Good luck with the sale. I truly believe this is a great boat

She is “offered” at 699,000 € because the owner wants to buy a bigger boat. This is the price for a 42ft cat well equipped! Or even a true bluewater monohull in the 50ft range. Good luck selling a 35ft at this price!
