I’m super lucky that I work at the Stratford Festival in Canada because I have seen and finally understood Shakespeare here for the first time in my life. It is much like OSF and I totally agree with Angela - it is magical!! Side note: it was once called the Stratford Shakespearean Festvial but we’ve been doing musicals, classics and modern plays for a number of decades now. I strongly believe that Shakespeare’s plays are meant to live on the stage and are 100% better understood there. I never understood the written text when we studied it in High School but as soon as it was brought to life on screen or stage, it was like an immediate light bulb moment for me. Staged versions are even better because when you are in the room with the actors you can feel the emotions behind every word.

They're so right about reading out loud Shakespeare's plays. Just reading it doesn't work. I remember being in 9th grade, like 13 or 14, and having the time of my life cold reading Shakespeare. Taming of A Shrew is one of my favorites, and I literally could not function when we were "performing" in front of the class. Just dying laughing, this shit is so funny lmao.

Angela gives me more reasons to love her in every episode...despite her being the definition of a theatre kid I didn't see "multiple copies of the complete works of Shakespeare" coming
