something amanda and angela might like to know: currently taking a forensic psychology course in university. there are a few theories to criminals but one is in fact the bonding between a child and their parent. it stems from freudian psych in the sense that babies need to have a bond with their mother (research now says any parental figure) to receive warmth for adequate development. this bonding is vital as, if they don’t receive that at 6 months, they will not learn how humans are connected. they get this idea that any other human is like a foreign species to them which makes them less empathetic to other humans and therefore dispensable. that’s just one of a few theories tho!

@Steamdragon133 ай бұрын
@hernameispekka_Rebecca I understand their perspective in the sense that it's "not a vacation." They still enjoy spending time with & love their family, but can't truly relax like they can by themselves. Having a vacation filled to the gills with food, events, etc can be fun to do, but after things are done you end up feeling just as busy as life back home lol, sometimes doing nothing and not being responsible for anyone can be good for the soul.
@hernameispekka_Rebecca3 ай бұрын
@@Steamdragon13 Oh, I 100% understand their view! Just that my family has had so many medical issues that we're SUPER good now at only doing exactly what we want, at the tempo we want, with good communication and no expectations on anyone. In my country we often use a term that basically is translated to Professional Distortion which means that you often notice things that are work related to you in everyday life and that makes it hard to ignore, you are comedians, so when you watch comedy you probably most times end up analyzing it or putting yourself in their shoes instead of enjoying it as a by stander because it's your work. Let's say you are a barista, even if you off shift and go to a coffee shop with your friends, you will probably end up judging the designs or lack there of on the coffees you ordered no matter if it's for good or for bad or wonder - what is the technique they used to make that design.

my mom knew JonBènet’s mother growing up. and my dad is family friends with one of the FSU victims of Ted Bundy. i’ve always been a huge true crime fan but it really took a toll on my mental health so i hopped over to being super into history instead. also, i highly recommend the podcast “trust me” when it comes to cult stuff. it’s hosted by two women who have survived cults and they talk with other people who have escaped or experienced cults. it’s not all about the leader, it’s the perspective of the followers. it’s an entirely different story

I’m both types of tourists, I like both getting the tourist tour AND exploring the actual place finding their little delicious hole-in-the-wall restaurants, experiencing the place at night, ect. Grew up in a house that loved traveling to enjoy and learn of a place’s culture so it’s ingrained in me to get the whole experience when I visit new places.

HIGHLY recommend The Casual Criminalist on YT for both of you, also available in Podcast format on all the podcast platforms. The episodes are all incredibly well researched and the format of the channel is that the host has never read the scripts before and reacts to it while reading and its SO entertaining. They cover so many cases and serial killers you've never heard of, but also most of the ones you have, from all over the world. 10/10 always recommend!!
